Great dumplings, once you get the system At first it’s a bit challenging because everything is in Chinese and ordering & payment only work via the Alipay app. If you’re not familiar with it, it takes a few minutes to figure out. Once you get the hang of it, though, everything runs smoothly. The dumplings were excellent – freshly made, full of flavor, and definitely worth it. Service was very good and efficient as well. Overall a great spot for authentic dumplings, just be prepared for a small learning curve at the beginning. Would definitely come back!

Yang's Fried Dumplings is a Shanghai institution for a reason. The shengjianbao arrive hot and unapologetically rustic: blistered, golden bottoms that crackle when bitten, giving way to a soft, slightly sweet dough. Inside, the pork filling is juicy and savory, with just enough broth to remind you that this is a cousin—though not a copy—of xiaolongbao. A scatter of sesame seeds and scallions adds aroma and balance, and the whole thing feels honest rather than polished. The experience is brisk and functional, almost cafeteria-like, which suits the food. You come here to eat, not to linger. Prices are modest, turnover is fast, and the dumplings are consistently satisfying—especially on a cool day when that first bite feels like a small reward. It’s not a place for reinvention or finesse; it’s a place that knows exactly what it is, and executes it reliably well.

Great place to have a tasty dumpling. The fried dumplings was really tasty meet was soft. The ping was long but was moving fast. Once we got inside the restaurant you order through the app food comes very quick.

Excellent local soup dumpling spot. Friendly staff, quick service and very tasty! We shared a couple of orders of two different dumplings between us which was perfect for a light lunch. The dumplings containing the ‘soup’ were awesome. Never had them before but would happily eat them again!

The food tastes good and is reasonably priced. I ordered through the Ali Pay app, and there is free self-service hot tea available.
