Steak good. Service SLOW! Steak was pretty good by China standards. Price was high, but that is to be expected. The service was excruciatingly slow and very robotic. When I’m paying top money for a meal, I expect top service.

A very nice steakhouse! Quality products at reasonable price, all prepared very well! Very nice staff and nice decor. Would come again!

I am tempted to even rate it with 3 stars. Overall the food was really good, though not spectacular. There is a pretty convincing selection of all kinds of exclusive beef, mainly wagyu though . We had the slowly cooked black Angus ribs. Served three big guys more than well. The wine list was amazing. In China this had to be 5 stars. In Europe it would be rather 4 and too expensive. So no concerns for food and drinks. But I was a bit disappointed by the details: there was apparently a new guy cutting our meat for us. That took him a bit, which is Ok. During the whole procedure the entire staff was watching him, glaring more and more fiercely at him, while he started to sweat. I was tempted to go there and help him. (he did a good job after all) They served salt with the beef, that was badly needed. But the grains were actually huge, so you had to crush them with your fingers. The chief of staff was criticizing a waitress directly at our table. No big deal in the end, I only mention these things, as the restaurant clearly aims at the top.

Pricey but excellent steak house located inside the Kerry Hotel. Ate there many times and I was never disappointed.

I recently visited the Shangri-La 1515 in Jing'an twice, full of high expectations for the Shangri-La, and decided to have steak there on the weekend. However, this experience was a complete disaster, which I will explain in detail below. First, there was no one to greet me upon entering; I had to ask. You read that right. I've dined at Cook, Brew, and Meat many times before, and this was the first time I'd encountered a situation where there was no one at the front desk. Around 7 pm on July 25th, I had to "boldly" walk into the restaurant myself to find a waiter to serve me. Perhaps the staff were too busy; I think we should understand. Second, the ordering service was mind-boggling. Yes, you read that right, and I didn't use the wrong word. Our order for two people was around 1100 RMB, and with the service charge, it should have been over 1200 RMB. The manager on duty, Mr. Edison, in a blue uniform, took our order—just one lobster bisque? And only two glasses of water? Oh, we don't know about the steakhouse at 1515... Seriously, hearing such a thought-provoking question made me realize I hadn't ordered enough. I feel like the restaurant managers at the more than ten Shangri-La hotels in Hong Kong, Vancouver, and mainland China were incredibly lenient; they never raised such a profound, soul-searching question. Thirdly, the service was slow and inadequate. After I sat down and ordered, there was no water, no napkins, so for a long time we could only sit there, munching on our bread. About eight minutes later, I grabbed the manager in the blue shirt, Mr. Edson, to ask for two glasses of water. He told me to keep waiting and then cheerfully went to help other tables with their steaks, without asking any other servers to bring me water. They just wanted me to wait, yeah, just wanted me to wait. Another eight minutes passed, and I still couldn't stand it, so I grabbed two empty glasses and found another waitress. She was nice; she immediately finished what she was doing and brought me two glasses of water, at least we didn't die of thirst from the bread. Yes, after so many years of dining at Shangri-La, with three Emerald Cards in my family, today was a disaster. I really don't dare to come back. In conclusion: I still have a strong affection for Shangri-La. I sincerely suggest you go to 1515 and learn from their staff's warm hospitality, energetic attitude, and sincere eyes. You are far behind.
