The night started with mind blowing good salmon salad and beef salami. If I’m honest, I recommend these two starter dishes more than the steak! We ordered both tomahawk and T-bone Australian wagyu for 6 hungry people. I preferred the T-bone slightly for its tenderness and beefy taste. Tomahawk is has a more creamy flavour, which is also very nice! But rest assured, both cut are top notch h level. I can only tell which one I likely slightly better when putting them side by side for comparison. The dessert is another highlight, the banlan or kaya cake (a vegetable only grows in tropical Asia) has subtle sweetness and won everyone’s heart for its uniqueness and perfectly balanced taste and texture. Cheesecake is always a classic.
Fabulous! Fantastic! Delicious! I must say that all the cuts they have are fabulous! We got the Australian wagyu in different levels and it was amazing!! So jucy that it would melt in your mouth. Starting with the stake tartar and the burrata salad. Then the stakes with the truffle fries, asparagus and some salad which I did not try because the fries had me all obsessed with them. And well the stakes… whichever you try from the menu will be a very good choice. We finished with the cheesecake and the ice cream which were to die for. Totally worth it, though its not a cheap restaurant.
Stone Sal Steakhouse Quite centrally located, just a short Didi ride from the Bund. The steak was excellent, served with mushrooms on the side, and the service was equally outstanding. Last orders are at 10:30 pm and the restaurant stays open until 1 am, which makes it a great late-night dining option.
This was definitly a full score experience. Was looking for something a bit more western, more SouthAfrican. And we where please! From a wide selection of wines to choose from, the in house somelier assisted us in selecting the correct wines to pair with our meat. The steak was perfectly cooked and served with freshly ground pepper, black sea and white sea salt. The marbeling was good (M7) and the taste was perfect. Will definitly recomend for anyone looking go expereince a bit of well aged beef!
Mashed potato tasted like overpriced barf. Mediocre steak by western standards
