I‘m a cocktail enthusiast and Speak Low is a REAL GEM for cocktail lovers like me. Phantastic athmosphere, coctails each like a piece of art both taste and presentation-wise, good snacks- And last but definitely not least: Kaito as one of the most skilled, charismatic and friendliest barkeepers I‘ve met. First night was so good I had to returned the second night as well 😊
I have been to SG club Tokyo, Sip n Guzzle in New York and finally a trip specially for Speak Low. Nicely hidden, this bar is no longer a stranger to cocktail lovers. With it is amazing accolades and led by some a great team of people, this place is definitely ultra cool to come with friends. Met Kaito San and he recommended me three drinks. Smoke gets in to your Eyes, Under my Skin and the iconic signature Speak Low. Simply amazing. I had them with a Foie gras snack. It went swell with the drinks. Speaking with a knowledgeable bartender makes the drinks even more palatable. I seriously had a blast. Each drink is carfefully thought of and prepared. Suits the name. For example, Smoke gets into your eyes is prepared in a smoked glass and it opens up all the senses on first sip! Solid!!!! I love it. Under my skin is bottled and kept in a leather skin bag. Once can definitely taste the infusion. So well thought of. Speak Low has macha and comes with chocolate. It’s a must have. I then proceeded to the second floor for an Upper Manhattan! The night didn’t end. I went two doors down to Swirl and enjoyed a good a wine infused cocktail prepared by Coco.
Was recommended this bar from a friend, and decided to find it! Didn't expect it to be a hidden bar, and the roadworks there made it even harder! You'll prob find a lot of confused people looking at map outside, once entered the door is the fake cabinet behind. And apparently has level 2 and 3 with different concept, you gonna be at level 2 before you can head up, I had enough fun in level 2 tbh. The drinks were really quite great, they have unique drinks too! Ordered milk tea too which was yummy! If you're here to get drunk, they have that enormous drink! Makes sense how they maintain top 50 for this long! Location: speak low
Had the privilege to visit both levels here, drinks are mostly classics with a small twist, the negroni here had a touch of chinese tea giving a floral aftertaste which is the best drink for the night
Went in late December, unfortunately had a mediocre experience. We were let in through the fun secret entrance after a short wait. The bar was extremely busy, standing room only for the first 20/30 minutes and tightly packed. Enjoyed my Christmas-themed cocktail a lot. We ordered some snacks and our waiter forgot, apologised, and then forgot again so we eventually left. Group next to us made some judgemental comments about us a little too loudly.
