#Shanghai #China Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund Check-in was easy and painless. Upon entering this boutique hotel, the lobby was very unique. Lots of Chinese artifacts paintings and small sculptures are darn a walkway towards the elevators. Upon enter in the room, there was a nice comfortable king-size bed that had fresh smelling linen with king size pillows. The closet was very roomy with lots of storage space and cubbyholes to store your belongings. The bathroom is very roomy with modern adornments. The shower is huge easily fits my 6’3” frame. My wife loved the toilet with the motion sensor seat that raised as she approached the toilet. There’s an array of buttons on the side wall by the toilet, which controls the toilet seat and the bidet. After taking a shower for the first time, the floor got very wet because there was a missing gasket on the shower door and the rainfall showerhead was not working properly. The next day we saw the housekeeper with a maintenance man and we mentioned the problems and they immediately took care of all the issues and we had no problems the next day. The AC unit seems to be running a little bit warm even though I have the temperature set at a comfortable 22°C. The room darkness was excellent. The room was 99% dark which allowed us to sleep very soundly . The room had a big screen TV, a Bose radio and a JBL clock with 2 USB-A ports. The Wi-Fi seems very sluggish and at times it didn’t seem to work at all. We will talk to the front desk. There are snacks and wine available for purchase and complementary water, tea and coffee. The best thing about this room is the amazing view across the Bund. The view is spectacular. Also the decor of the room is exquisite. No cookie cutter layout. The night stands are different the lamps the couch all unique. The hotel is within walking distance to many local restaurants and businesses. One being the local ferry and local tour boats. 2026-02-24

While the property offers exceptional river views, comfortable bedding, and quality bathroom amenities, the overall experience was inconsistent. Guests should be aware that Wi-Fi connectivity and in-room entertainment are subpar, and modern conveniences like Bluetooth speakers and alarms are not standard in all rooms. It is highly advisable to bring your own universal adapter. Furthermore, sound insulation is poor, resulting in significant disturbance from outside noise. Regarding dining, the rooftop bar offers a stunning atmosphere but is let down by slow service, and other on-site dining options feel disproportionately priced. Unfortunately, the breakfast service struggled to maintain food temperature. Most notably, the staff interactions lacked warmth and engagement, falling short of the expected hospitality standards. The hotel staff will immediately charged full amount + a deposit (RMB800 daily, based on number of your room nights) when you check in and without informed you in prior. You will only noticed after the charges went thru. When check out, they will not advice how the refund process will be. There are other better hotel options with the price you will pay for this hotel.

Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund This boutique hotel sits right along the Huangpu River, offering stunning views of the Pudong skyline. Its location is extremely convenient, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and major attractions like Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the iconic Shanghai Tower. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet, making it a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring the city. It was well-equipped with essential amenities including a tea kettle, cups, instant coffee, tea bags, and complimentary bottled water. There was also a minibar stocked with snacks and drinks, an ironing board with iron, an in-room safe, and a smart TV. The bed was very comfortable, with soft, clean linens and four plush pillows. The air conditioning worked adequately, though it occasionally felt a bit warm at night. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi quality was poor, with very limited connectivity during our stay. Storage was excellent and great for longer stays. The spacious closet had plenty of hangers, drawers, and shelves for unpacking. The room also had a work desk, a comfortable couch for relaxing, two nightstands, and four convenient USB-A ports. The bathroom included a walk-in shower with good water pressure. My favorite part was the toilet seat that open when you approach it. Everything was spotless, and basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were provided. Robes and slippers were also included, adding a nice touch of comfort. Housekeeping was diligent and responsive. When we reported a leak in the shower, the staff addressed and repaired it within an hour, which we greatly appreciated. Breakfast was buffet-style with a fair selection of options; however, vegan choices were limited. The waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and helpful especially Rita and Jenny, who stood out for their excellent service and their friendly, welcoming smiles. A The price felt like a fair value for the location, amenities, and accommodations. Overall, this is a comfortable, well-located hotel with great service and thoughtful amenities. The standout features were the breathtaking river views and the comfortable room setup, which truly made it feel like a home away from home.

I stayed here as part of a business trip. The view of the Bund from the bar is something else. The rooms are fantastic but you will pay a little more to stay here. A lot of places are within walking distance and I would recommend staying here. One word of caution is to avoid aaking the reception to book a taxi to the airport, they call a local who charges more than they should....

Fantastic view but personnel at the reception was not accommodating my request to have a river view in spite the availability and the similar price (my room was booked for city view by mistake) . I was staying in this hotel first time in 2018, and I was exciting to repeat the nice experience I had that time with wonderful view on the Bund but this time the experience was bad. Hotel is also getting old as the maintenance is bad. Very cold in all common areas. Poor breakfast.
