A rare find in the city: high-quality, MSG-free Shanghainese comfort food served in a narrow, multi-story lane house.

Signature
Red-braised pork belly with sweet soy glaze.

A friend brought me here on my last night in Shanghai. The food was so delicious that I couldn't stop smiling. So glad to have had the chance to wear at a restaurant with amazing prices and taste. Will recommend to everyone!

Very good Shanghai local traditional style dishes, well cooked with reasonable price. Highly recommended to try, but better to make a reservation as earlier as possible.

Outstanding local cuisine, almost rivals Dianshi Zhaixiaoyan in Yongjia. It's quite small and you'll have to queue at busy times, but arriving after 7 may see the last of the crowds. Stinky tofu wrapped in tofu skin (to control the smell), exploded pig's liver, braised bamboo shoots, beef in tofu skin, cold pork with garlic sauce, and everybody's favourite: dates stuffed with sticky rice. And their house yellow wine is seriously interesting

Claimed no use of MSG. True! As I did not get thirsty afterwards what I normally do when eating in Shanghai mostly. Dishes make you feel homemade. Presentation is simple. Absolutely should order the yellow fish and noodles.

Reservation recommended. Good eatery for small gathering that satisfies your Chinese tastebud. Dish size is between small to medium.
