This is really insane! This glance does make absolutely speechless! This view is a must do on a visit in shanghai. Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed after my arriving. The Priece for cocktails seems normal for this breathless place.

The best spot in Shanghai for the night view of huangpu river. The view is marvelous when the weather is good. It's a little bit pricey though considering the drinks you could have there, still quite worth it with the view.

Worst bar I‘ve ever been to. I am used to tourist traps and sometimes you just need to accept it to get a good view or whatever. But the stuff was beyond rude and non acceptable. If it would be possible to give zero stars, I would’ve done so. The music is ridiculous, who plays Eminem??? In a bar that pretends to be posh. The furniture is plastic and really chap. They view is beyond mid. I mean yeah, nice you see some towers but that’s normal for a big city. If you wanna get a really nice view of more than just 2 towers and some new low complex buildings don’t come here. Your are charged at the entry and the only two cocktail choices are either a non alcoholic elderflower beverage or some tonic with different juices out of a can. Embarrassing!!! Maybe someone should even come here, to realise how bad an establishment can be. Never seen anything like this ever before. And I’ve been to quite a few continents, countries and cities.

My time at CHAR was a mix of astonishment and mediocrity. I've heard for years that I have to go to CHAR for the view. And I fully agree now that any visit to Shanghai would be incomplete without going there. Not only is the vantage point one of the best but it's uniquely situated at the south end of the CBD, with literally no impediments to the view from other buildings or the structure itself. Barriers on the deck are of a reasonable height and there's no glass getting in the way of photos! However, I found the service to be only acceptable and the drink list to be rather uninspired. Couple that with staff that rationed the physical menus and who seemed to ignore my party and, after only a couple drinks each, we were out the door. Still, I'll take any Shanghai visitors to CHAR.
