Surprisingly good despite the questionable reviews. Menus are truly very creative including the abalone puff and foie gras cherries and the berries drink. The recommended fried rice my dad ordered was really bland though and the dumpling had flour too thick despite nice fillings. Also one of our orders did not arrive. Had to call for it after we already finished eating the rest so it finally came after. I was very sure the order was taken at first too, as I was asked whether I wanted 1 or 2 servings.

We came with high expectations, not least because of the Michelin star, and the meal itself largely delivered. The reception unfortunately went quite badly. Despite having confirmed the booking in detail well in advance, including where we wanted to sit, they first seemed unable to find the reservation, then left us standing in the middle of the room, and initially wanted to give us a poor table. After some discussion, we did get the window table we had requested, and the view is definitely worth it. Service started a bit slowly, but the food was genuinely excellent. The tuna tartare was outstanding, and the Peking duck was the best I have had in my life, carved tableside by the chef and served in two rounds, first with pancakes and then the rest afterwards. The wine was unfortunately served a bit too warm, which should not happen at this level. So yes, there is room for improvement on the service side, but the food was truly excellent.

I had an absolutely delightful evening at Canton Table, perched on the 5th floor of Shanghai’s N3 Building (Three on the Bund). The space blends old-Shanghai glamour with modern touches—think ornate red lanterns, intricate woodwork, terrazzo floors, and those stunning murals of qipao-clad ladies. The Bund view from our table was mesmerizing, with the Huangpu River and skyline twinkling below—pure magic. Food stole the show: crispy pork was shatteringly perfect, xiaolongbao burst with savory broth, and every dish screamed top-tier Cantonese mastery from their veteran chefs. Service felt like old friends—warm, attentive, with a sommelier pouring bubbly just right. Bonus thrills: an artist live-sculpting intricate sugar figures, plus a cool Happy New Year moment with a dragon dance, pounding percussions, and folks in traditional clothes bringing festive energy amid the horse decor. It’s a must for Bund dining.

Such bad food … I ordered 5 dishes … and 4 of them were TERRIBLE!!!! They couldn’t even make the wok fried vegetables any good. Only good dish was the foie gras cherries … HOW ON EARTH IS THIS A MICHELIN RESTAURANT. SHAME ON YOU! I guess it makes a pretty backdrop to instagram influencers …

For a michelinstar restaurant this was a disppointment. The first course was amazing !! Such good combining flavours. Then it all got kind of bland. We enjoyed the chinese wines. The service was friendly, they were there the second we finished our food. We called them to fill up our wine many times.
