A must-visit place in Seoul! I absolutely loved the culture and the beautiful scenery around Gyeongbokgung Palace. The palace grounds are huge, so be prepared to spend at least half a day exploring everything. I highly recommend renting a hanbok to wear during your visit—it makes the experience even more special, and you’ll get amazing photos. Walking through this historic palace in traditional Korean clothing truly feels like stepping back in time. It was one of the best experiences of my trip to Korea!

The most grand palace of the Joseon dynasty. Very crowded. Can watch the change of palace guard around 11am before starting the palace tour. There’s free guided tour at specific timing. But I highly recommend to rent the audio guide for 3000 krw. Informative and it’s easier if you would like to visit at your own pace. Beautiful palace and huge palace ground. Can be really hot and sunny during summer so be sure to bring umbrella.

A nice palace but not as spectacular as the Chinese ones. Smaller scale than the Chinese. However, it is still nice to come here dressed in traditional costumes to soak in the atmosphere. If you are lucky, you can get to witness the change of guard ceremonies. Just check the schedule before coming so you can watch it.

This palace provides great photos and we had great weather at April. It was walkable in less than 3 hours and was not too crowded at photo hotspots. Tickets were cheap so, highly recommended if you want to see a historic highlight of Seoul.

A lovely palace, my mother in law recanted when she was a little girl she would skate on the water in front of the palace. I guess times change, and places change, despite the palace remaining, what you can do here also changes. It was a great cultural experience and majestic glimpse of a different world. It was captivating to just stop and reflect on these aspects.
