Fantastic food, atmosphere and view. The waitress was horribly inattentive, but the other waitstaff were very helpful. The (chilled) Dungeness crab was fresh, full and sweet. Delicious! Great presentation too. Chose a dozen mixed raw oysters. The Sweetwater and Kumamoto were my favs. Well balanced and not too briny. Ordered some grilled oysters too. Really like the bourbon chipotle. Nice mild smokiness and spice. Michelin star in 2005. Food exemplified that star on my visit.
This is a great place for seafood in SF. There was a short line at dinner time but it moved fast. I personally like that they don’t really take reservations. The oysters are tasty and fresh. The wines we had were delicious. Service was friendly and attentive the entire evening. The server even washed the abalone shell that the ceviche was served in for me to take home. The location is fantastic. It doesn’t get much better than waterfront dining along the bay.
WOW. The steamed seafood bowl here is on another level — so fresh and flavorful, I couldn’t get enough. Add in that stunning ocean view and the lively atmosphere, and it makes for a pretty unbeatable combo. I’d genuinely eat here every day if I could afford it! 😄 If you’re in SF and love seafood, this is a must-visit.
Very busy at lunchtime on a Saturday - wait time outside was about 20 minutes or so and it was well worth it. Clam chowder was excellent - very hearty, plenty of clams, and used my bread to insure I was able to get the last drops of broth. Prices were $$$. Very friendly staff - service was fast.
Great food for a decent price, right in the Ferry Building! I’d always assumed this place would be a tourist trap, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. The oysters were amazing, and I got the shrimp po' boy sandwich, which was solid as well. I do wish there had been a bit more attention to service, e.g. our bread never arrived until we flagged someone down. That said, the food definitely made up for it. Overall, a solid spot, and I’d come back to try their clam chowder next time.
