⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4 Stars Good Mong Kok Bakery is a Chinatown staple and a must-visit for anyone craving fresh, no-frills dim sum at unbeatable prices. It’s a classic grab-and-go spot — no seating, usually a line out the door, and absolutely worth the wait. The highlight? Their freshly made egg custard tart for just $1.80. It’s an incredible deal for something so delicious. The crust is perfectly flaky and buttery, while the custard filling is silky smooth, lightly sweet, and still warm when you get it. You can taste that it’s made fresh throughout the day. Beyond the tarts, their steamed buns and dumplings are generous in size and flavor, making this one of the best value stops in San Francisco. Service is quick and efficient — this place runs like a well-oiled machine. If you’re exploring Chinatown and want authentic, affordable dim sum, Good Mong Kok Bakery delivers every time. Four stars for amazing value and those unforgettable egg custard tarts. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Chinatown hole in the wall dumpling spot that makes great dim sum dishes! Not a dine in spot. Only take out. There was a line as I arrived in the morning, but very minimal and the wait may have been a total of 5 minutes. Three cooks were behind the counter taking orders and preparing the food. I ordered the Steamed Pork Bun, Har Gow, Shu Mai, and Pot Stickers. All savory and all delicious as any dim sum restaurant. The Steamed Pork Bun was large and it had more dough than pork. But the dough was very fluffy and flavorful. The pork was tender, sweet and savory. The pot stickers were traditional and flavorful. Crispy on the outside as they're meant to be. The fillings in the Har Gow and Shu Mai were spot on when it comes to consistency, flavor, and texture. If you want the popular dim sum dishes, this is the spot to go to.

Long line. It took about 15-20 minutes to get in. Line actually moved pretty quickly. Thank goodness they accepted Apple Pay, I didn’t have enough cash on me. Since they did accept cards with a 3% charge, I kinda splurged a bit more with my selection. I got the Turnip Cakes, Chicken Siu Mai, and Chives and Shrimp dumplings. They were good. Servings were large. Ambiance, you can’t sit down, it’s take out only. It’s a hole in a wall sorta place, but serves lots of dim sum dishes. Great place to go for fresh dim sum when in Chinatown in San Francisco.

Dim sum and buns here are big enough and yummy enough 🤩🤩 Dim sum skins are little bit thick but you won't even care about it when you taste the fillings at such a low price. Pork and shrimp dumpling was amazing, and steamed BBQ pork bun was impressive, not to mention sesame balls. You might think the staff is not that friendly and the kitchen looks messy, but come on... with their tasty dumplings and buns at such a low price, I dare not to expect fancy service from 5 star restaurant 😂😂

This was a popular choice on Google so we came here for breakfast around 10am. The line was short so we joined. It moved insanely fast. Just make sure you know what you want to get or order. The ladies can understand English and speak Cantonese or you can simply just point at what you want to order. The food was warm from the steamers so temperature was nice. The only thing is that it dont actually taste good. You get what you pay for. This place is just popular because it's cheap. Its not popular for excellent dim sum. The shrimp dumpling had a ton if shrimp but you dont taste any shrimps flavor. All you can taste is just the dough. Would not recommend getting it. The fried meat dumpling was crispy but you just taste the oil. There isnt much pork or filling inside. It’s mostly like the dough you are eating. Average. The "chinese donut," you tiew, or fried dough was cold and dry. It wasnt fresh. Nobody wanted to finished the one stick and it was tossed in the trash. 3 orders for $9.80. Go here if you want cheap dim sum takeout but do not go here for cheap and quality dim sum.
