This museum is a gorgeous oasis of calm & beauty amidst the hiatus & bustle of the city outside. Staff are very friendly & helpful, the exhibitions are unique & engaging, the actual building is so lovely that there was a couple taking engagement photos last time I was there. Also the museum hosts really cool events including the Asian Women Are Strong event every international women’s day & various speakers. The gift shop is ADORBS dangerous to my wallet, beautiful things, cute things, range of books & stationary. Asian box cafe inside by a lovely atrium to sit in. A real gem. I usually take the hut & pay to park at civic center across the street- but super accessible via muni or BART as well
Our first visit to this museum and we loved it. It's on 3 floors so give yourself time. We especially were impressed with the special exhibit of Chiharu Shiota. It is a must-see. A whole tunnel created from yarn.
A pretty good museum for it's Asian specialties. Good write-ups on the signs. Not crowded. I happily spent 2hrs there and could have done more. It's worth checking out the special exhibits - they are included in the admission.
A beautiful museum with an incredible collection of Asian art and artifacts. The galleries are well organized, and the experience is both educational and inspiring.
it is amazing to see artworks from various regions of Asia all in one museum! highly recommended. Let me just show you my favorite little birdie in this museum 🕊️ by the way, this isn't sponsored, but they have the best museum gift shop I've ever seen!
