A world class cocktail bar located in District 1 of Saigon aka HCMC with a very wide variety of drinks, plenty of food options and really friendly attentive bartenders who speak a decent amount of English. First up was the Kickin Papaya Colada which was served in a carved gourd. The reinterpreted Colada had a more tropical flair with the substitution of papaya instead of the traditional pineapple. It was a well-balanced cocktail with just the right amount of rum, flavor and sweetness. Next, I ordered the Bananas Be Smokin which came presented underneath a glass cake lid. The bartender pulled the lid away, swirling it as smoke dissipated over the rim of the glass. A banana ice cream popsicle leaned inside the glass. Surprisingly, the smoke remained prominent more than halfway through the drink. Enjoyable blend of sweet, smoky and heavy banana elements. I might’ve used a more exotic glass for such an elaborate drink. The space is beautifully designed, with a library of liquor lining the back wall of the lengthy bar. There are two rows of tables across from the bar and a few benches outside on the balcony patio. If you are in Saigon and looking for an approachable cocktail bar with a great vibe and extensive drink menu, I’d highly recommend Summer Experiment.
Best bar I’ve been to in Saigon. The drinks are all unique and it was a treat to have sat at the bar and watched them create each cocktail. We had the Bee On Your Knees, Watermelon Punch, Dragon’s Delight, & Polka Dot. Highlights were Dragon’s Delight & Bee On Your Knees. The other two were good too just didnt stand out as much. All were delicious. Quite pricey, but Id say worth it. Bee on your knees comes with a polaroid pic which definitely makes the experience more memorable and fun. Music was a bit random. It gets packed so I’d say get there by 8 to avoid waiting in line to get a spot. Would definitely recommend this bar & come back!
This place was banging from start to finish. Intimate outdoor section made for a perfect setting of beats, cocktails and food. Service was ace, cocktails creative and delicious, taster shots on entry and delicious and generous portions of food. Ate and drank our way through as much of menu as we could before we stumbled and waddled our way home. 10/10 would do again
We had such a wonderful valentine night here! Dont judge the book by the cover, i said that because the building itself is very old and nasty but once you hit the bar, its unspoken. The vibe is young, cozy, friendly team. You are welcomed right at the entrance. I were lucky to sit at the bar where they craft these cocktails art so we could see all beautiful movements and nice touch on each of the cocktail glasses that they create. We had 4 different drinks, the Banana “kem chuoi” was my best favorite which also was recommended by a young lady that seems to be a manager. It brought me back to my childhood when i were little girl, my mom would make Banana Ice cream and stored them in freezer so we could eat on those hot days. The after taste of this cocktail ended strong, a bit bitter from cocoa yet creamy, very memorable taste, i could have 2 but i were too full. Dont hesitate to order their creative snacks, we thought it would be a local dish but they twisted with different ingredients. I would say this is a wonderful team where they put heart, enthusiasm, care, attention to everything they do. Also, the most clean restroom in saigon that i can compare to Japan standard!!!
Felt like a speakeasy bar, as it was rather difficult to locate, but a friend who goes there regularly introduced it to us and it was pretty ok, only thing was that you needed to climb a few flight of stairs to reach it. The food and service staff were lovely and the cocktail creation pretty colourful i must say. A nice place to chill and get away from the crowd.
