I stayed at the Hotel Santa Maria with my partner recently on a quick trip to see the sights of Rome and we were both so impressed with the hotel and the SERVICE! The hotel is incredibly charming, set in a 16th century convent with an orange grove in the center where we could sit an enjoy morning coffee and evening treats. The staff is five star. They met us at the gate to welcome us, explained the hotel and neighborhood, and were there for anything we needed. Breakfast and happy hour food are included in the price, the neighborhood is lively and full of great restaurants, and it's a short walk to the major tourist attractions in Rome. When we return, we will 100% stay at Hotel Santa Maria again. HIGLY recommended!

The hotel is really really well located in Trastevere. Very happening, lively area with lots of restaurants. However, this is not close to/walking distance to the monuments. The hotel is very charming, with several internal court yards and the owner and staff are exceptional. I requested foam/firm pillows and they were on the bed when we arrived and perfect firmness. The hotel is a little oasis in the middle of Trastevere. We have had friends stay there, and would stay again the next time we are in Rome. My only complaint was the bed, which I found to be a little low to the ground and very very hard. I would give 4.5 stars, the bed was a .5 point deduction.

We stayed at the Hotel Santa Maria with our two teenage children, our room was a suite with a queen bed and the kids had bunk beds. The staff were exceptional and very pleasurable. The hotel is in an amazing neighborhood with great food and night life! Just steps from the front doors is La Tavernetta Da Tony! Get in line early you won't be disappointed! We will make sure to stay here again when visiting Rome!

Ten years ago we had an outstanding stay while in Rome at Santa Maria Hotel. So this year when we decided to revisit Rome, naturally we booked five nights at the same hotel ….. and we were not disappointed. Several of the key staff were still there and all the staff were always happy to help us in any way they could, especially Kevin and Norman. But, the pièce de résistance is the hotel’s beautiful outdoor courtyards where you can sit in the shade of the orange trees and enjoy your breakfast or a glass of wine. It is a quiet oasis to return to and relax when returning from the noise and crowds of Rome.

We absolutely loved out our stay at Hotel Santa Maria! Tucked away as its own little sanctuary amidst a vibrant and exciting neighborhood, this hotel made for a fantastic home base during our stay in Rome. Starting each day with a complimentary breakfast served by a friendly and inviting staff was a great way to start our days before we set off to explore the city. Our favorite part was the nightly happy hour that included fantastic cocktails accompanied by authentic Italian light bites and world class service. Special shoutout to Kevin and Jacobo who both went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay! They offered friendly conversation, helpful local recommendations, and lots of laughs. Looking forward to returning to Hotel Santa Maria someday!
