We stayed here for our first anniversary and first trip to Rome and wow. Truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Excellent location, clean, and a delicious breakfast. The staff was SO helpful. They helped with reservations and anything we could have needed. They even recommended dinner spots which ended up being top notch. They also spoke English well which helped our transition to Italy. I can't say enough great things about the staff.
The hotel is overrated and not a 4 star hotel. Location is decent, but the hotel interior is dated and in major need or renovation. Furniture and bedding extremely uncomfortable including mattress, stains on all over the furniture and tables, hallways smell from dirty carpets and lack of maintenance. Hotel does not have proper sound proofing and you can hear noise from above floors and not to mention the rooftop bar open till 1 am where guests and outsiders visit till 1 am followed by horrible drunk people talking loud as they come down the stairs to leave the bar/building. 2 nights in a row, I heard people screaming and talking loud in the alley leaving the bar. Breakfast wasn't great and poor selection. The restaurant was decent, but overpriced for what they service. Restaurant service was good. In addition, I found the hotel management extremely unprofessional in communication and guest correspondence when I inquired about a mini bar charge that I had not consumed. I recommend avoiding this hotel all together. Pictures of the hotel are photoshopped and not accurate of what you will see when you visit the hotel.
True 3-4 star hotel. Not luxury, but clean and well appointed sizable rooms. The staff was wonderful and breakfast delicious- they have the standard continental breakfast plus a made to order menu of hot items included. Great location. Recommend!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A thoughtfully designed hotel we’re still dreaming about six months later We stayed at Hotel Chapter Roma during the summer high season and left with a very positive impression. The hotel is set in a beautifully restored centuries-old Roman building, thoughtfully updated with contemporary design that feels comfortable and refined, but not overdone. The location is a real standout. It’s an easy walk to Campo de’ Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto, and Trastevere, where we easily could have had every meal if time had allowed. Being able to explore so much of Rome on foot made the stay feel relaxed and immersive, without being in the most congested tourist areas. Our room was well designed, quiet, and comfortable — especially appreciated after long days exploring Rome. Housekeeping was consistent, and the overall condition of the hotel felt well cared for. What really elevated our stay was the staff. The front desk team was excellent, with Gianmarco being an exemplary part of that group — professional, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The concierge and guest relations team were equally impressive, offering thoughtful assistance, great recommendations, and a sincere interest in making our stay enjoyable. A special mention goes to the rooftop bar, Hey Güey, which was a wonderful place to unwind after hot days of touring — relaxed, lively, and a great way to end the evening without even leaving the hotel. Hotel Chapter Roma is a smart, well-run hotel in an excellent neighborhood, and we would absolutely choose it again.
Location - the hotel is located perfectly if you like to walk places. The only time I took a bus was to get to the Vatican museums and that was only due to my booking being at 8 am. I did walk back from there. Everything you need is 5-20 minute walk. Staff - the staff are extremely nice and helpful. You truely feel like they are there to aid you with whatever you need. Bathroom - the bathroom is spacious and nice. There is no bath (not in my room at least) but there is a big shower with great water pressure! And I do mean great, nothing makes me happier than a good shower and nothing is worse when after a long day you have to find yourself with a drizzle. Room - the room isn't massive but it isn't small, just the right size. I'm not a fan of all the things they leave for you to use (with payment). In my room there was only one table and it was full of alcohol that I don't drink and I would like to use that space to put stuff. I assume I could have just asked them as well, so that's on me. There aren't any closets in the room, just a rack to hang clothes and 2-3 drawers, keep that in mind. The bed itself is very firm and comfy (unless you like very soft beds, not sure why). It isn't a "dreamy" bed (I had one at my hotel in Florence) but it's quite good. There is no coffee machine which is a shame really (yes, I know it's Rome, but still). Breakfast - breakfast is very good, everything is fresh, eggs and bacon is made to order and there is quite a lot of variety. From yogurt to cold cuts, cheese, fruits, pastries and even a block of chocolate! You really can't go wrong here, it's a great hotel.
