2026.05 We had our first meal in Rio here, and it was a very pleasant experience — authentic Brazilian food, quick service, and friendly staff. Our server, Joao Batista, was especially helpful and patient communicating with us since we do not speak Portuguese. We tried tacacá, açaí with pirarucu, and tambaqui ribs, and I would recommend all of them. Tacacá was very unique — sour, tangy, numbing, and unlike anything we had tried before. If you enjoy those flavours, you will probably like it. Both pirarucu and tambaqui are Amazon River fish. The pirarucu was fried, boneless, and served with açaí, while the tambaqui came with bones that were easy to remove. Both were well prepared and flavourful. We tried the açaí with everything that came with it — fish, granola, tapioca, farinha, and even jambu rice that came with tambaqui ribs — using it as a dip or sauce, and surprisingly, it worked well with all of them. We also learned that açaí can simply be enjoyed on its own as a dessert, as we saw locals coming in just to order it for their kids. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting. It may not be inexpensive, but it feels genuinely authentic and offers a great introduction to Brazilian cuisine.
Probably the best açaí bowl I’ve had in my life. The açaí was incredibly thick and rich, so much so that it turned my teeth blue for quite a while. The tacacá was very exotic for us, but also interesting and addictive in its own way. I’m really glad I got to try it, since I can’t imagine finding something like this anywhere else. The pastels were also amazing. We additionally ordered the grilled fish because it seemed like everyone at the other tables was having it, and it reconfirmed that you should always follow the locals... it was sooo good! BTW, there are 2 places of this place, a place mainly for only açaí, and the other like a proper restaurant. I recommend going to the restaurant and trying out different foods as well!
We came to try the tacaca (sour and tingly jambu and shrimp soup) and the duck rice. Also ordered the bolinho de piraracu (fish ball) and the unha de caraguejo (crab ball), bacuri juice, cupuacu juice. Excellent food and very good service from every one. Highly recommended!
This was honestly one of the best Acai bowl I’ve had — super fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor. The toppings were generous and everything tasted high quality. The atmosphere was great too, making it the perfect stop after the beach or while exploring the city. Totally worth visiting!
This was a new culinary that I thoroughly enjoyed. I liked that you could get pure acai. It was my favourite food. There was a gratin dish that I found too rich and creamy. It wasn't explained well on the menu so it was disappointing. The soup and the crab and rice dish was lovely though as well as the juices
