highly technical, French-influenced, structured fine dining experience, layered with acidity and brightness. The gnocchi, short ribs, lobster, seabass, and especially the snacks were beautifully executed. Timing — which is so critical at this level of cuisine — was precise. Sitting at the chef’s table was particularly helpful in appreciating the rhythm and detail of the kitchen; the experience may feel different from the main dining room. Each course arrived composed and intentional, with careful pacing throughout the meal. What stood out most was that this was not a meal focused solely on presentation. It was refined yet deeply satisfying, leaving me wanting to return — which is not always the case with elaborate tasting menus. There is a strong classical foundation here, but the Brazilian identity comes through in the freshness and balance of flavors. The progression felt thoughtful and coherent. A small note: a few of the snacks leaned slightly salty to my palate. It’s also worth acknowledging the broader context — this is a meaningful culinary investment in Brazil, and the seriousness and professionalism behind the experience reflect that. The meal felt considered, respectful, and executed with care. Overall, a memorable and technically accomplished experience.
Best gastronomical experience of my life. Most of the dishes were amazing and the starters were my favorite by far. I enjoyed their drinks selection as well. The nonalcoholic coconut juice was my favorite. I also ordered one margarita; however, it lacked taste and I couldn’t finish it. The staff was very welcoming and addressed all of our doubts properly. The white chocolate cake filed with jam was my favorite dessert. Their brigadeiros were really tasty too.
An excellent restaurant in the Leblon area of Rio. The food was delicious, wine flight was well paired and the service was excellent. What makes this restaurant great was all the “snacks”. They bring out, wave after wave of beautifully created canapés or amuse bouche - which were all sensational. This was the best meal we had in our 11 night Brazilian adventure. Thanks Oro
Oro was an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. This was not just dinner, it was art, precision, and emotion on a plate. Each dish arrived with a different member of the team, and every single one was fully knowledgeable about what they were serving. Many of them spoke different languages effortlessly, explaining ingredients, techniques, and inspiration with confidence and passion. You truly feel cared for and guided through the journey. The timing between courses was impeccable. Not rushed, not slow, just perfectly paced so you could fully appreciate each moment before the next creation arrived. They begin with several appetizers, each one bite sized and visually stunning. Every plate looks almost too beautiful to touch. But the moment you take that first bite, you understand why you must. The flavors are layered, intentional, and surprising. By the time the entrée arrives, you’re already amazed. And somehow, even though each portion is small, by the time dessert is served, you are completely satisfied and comfortably full. Every single dish is a piece of art, from design to ingredient selection to execution. This is not a restaurant where you simply eat. This is a place where you experience. You experience the harmony between what your eyes are seeing and what your palate is discovering. We found ourselves closing our eyes after each bite, just to fully absorb the flavors. Oro is not just a meal. It is a culinary performance, and one we will never forget.
I was genuinely charmed by the attentiveness of the staff and how kind and accommodating everyone was throughout the evening. The team effortlessly moved between Spanish and English for our table, which spoke volumes about their professionalism and care. One guest was pescatarian, and the kitchen provided thoughtful, delicious alternatives without hesitation. Every course was immaculately prepared and served with precision. The wine pairing was generous, though a few of the pairings didn’t fully resonate with the dishes for me—very much a personal preference rather than a flaw. Some of the cocktails were interesting, but the beverage program overall was the least compelling part of the experience and didn’t quite match the creativity and refinement of the food. Even so, it was a truly unforgettable evening, made possible by the seamless collaboration between both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
