This hostel was a huge disappointment and honestly ruined part of my trip. First of all, the place is dirty and the welcome was terrible. No one speaks English, so communication is basically non-existent, which makes everything even more frustrating. I made the mistake of booking two weeks, only to realize there is no WiFi, even though I need it to work. I had to buy three SIM cards just to have internet access. The organization is chaotic: • The breakfast/bar is only open randomly (maybe once every three days) • Cleaning staff empty the fridges and throw everything away without warning • No one explains anything or communicates with guests Facilities are also very poor: • Only one mirror per floor for about 26 people, and no proper lighting • So forget about doing your makeup or shaving The pool is cold and almost no one uses it. The atmosphere is dead, and most people I met actually left early because of how bad it is. On top of that, I was robbed three times during my stay, which is completely unacceptable and made me feel very unsafe. I asked for a partial refund, both on Booking and on-site, and it was refused. In the end, I still left early but had to pay for the full stay. Also, if you are allergic to cats, be careful: there is a cat in the hostel, and this is not mentioned anywhere. Honestly, avoid this place. If you really want to try it, book a very short stay first. Just two streets away, there is a much better hostel where you are welcomed with a drink, the WiFi works perfectly, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is friendly. That is worth much more than a useless pool.
Overpriced, uncomfortable beds, rooms with mold. The staff and location is super! That’s the only reason I would not give 1 star. I stayed in a 9 bed dorm with 3-tier bunk bed, which is so bad, the one on the top always wakes up everyone. Bed was als shaky. Kitchen and the shared toilet were most of the time dirty. Kitchen has everything you need tho. Maybe I had bad timing, but the guests were weird and super old comparing with other hostel guests. I didn’t like the vibe at the hostel at all. They book tours for you with a very fair price. And you can store your luggage for free. As I mentioned the staff is amazing. The accommodation is just not worth the money. I would not overnight there again.
It was the first hostel I visited in rio, paid 440 reals on private room per night!!!! 880 reals in total! And it was the worst room and most expensive room I had in all Brazil!!! I cant believe I paid 440 reals! For this gross grossest room. Do your research before going, there are better hostels. The room was like a basement and smelled like mold.
The only bad thing about this hotel is the wifi. Wifi is terrible. The hotel area’s location is really safe, you don’t feel in danger :) if you stay this beach house private bathroom and toilet please keep in your mind the toilet smells. If I go to Rio again, I’d definitely stay here!
Great location and with a nice pool & hammocks. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful with the exception of one guy in the reception working night time who was shockingly rude. The rooms were very small for 9 people to move around. The hostel had some unnecessary hidden charges such as towel lend and keping luggage after checkout. They don't let you use the AC day time when it's the hottest in the room
