We loved our stay. The location at the end of the strip for the beach front was perfect , almost private! The beach front chair and umbrella area exclusive to Fairmont guests was so nice. The hotel pools had more tha enough chairs with awesome staff service. Breakfast buffet views and service were excellent. Staff all spoke extremely fluent English. Wifi was strong and even reached the beach area. We had to check out and our flight wasn’t until evening but staff encouraged us to leave our bags at conceierve and use fitness amenities to freshen up - the fitness washroom was spacious, barely used, clean showers with ample towels. Thank you to Netto Moreira for such a nice birthday touch and welcome. The stay here made our visit to rio for the first time truly enjoyable!

Amazing location, beautiful hotel, exceptional service, and stunning views. This was a Chase Sapphire EDIT hotels property. It came with USD 100 hotel credit (food or spa) and early check in. Didn't receive room upgrade or late checkout as they are fully booked (I would believe this). 1. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. 2. The sea-facing infinity pool has some of the best views in Rio. You can walk in anytime and usually get seated easily, with excellent poolside service throughout the day. It can get a bit crowded at times, and there are visitors often who are not staying at the hotel. 3. There is also another open pool on the interior side of the property, which is quieter and more relaxing, though without the ocean views. 4. Food: The breakfast buffet is standard but very good, with a wide variety of fresh fruits. You can choose to dine by the infinity pool or indoors. The food and service at Marine Restô were excellent — the staff were attentive and always seemed to anticipate what you needed before you even asked. 5. Location: Absolutely perfect. The hotel even provides beach service. The area felt very safe and lively, even during late-night walks around midnight. Everything is walkable and the atmosphere around Copacabana is fantastic.

Stayed here for a work trip and honestly the Fairmont made it feel like anything but. The staff were friendly and helpful every single time I interacted with them, nothing felt forced or scripted, just genuinely great service throughout. The pool and views are absolutely next level. Copacabana Beach and Sugarloaf right in front of you and it never gets old. The food was delicious and the caipirinhas? Don't even get me started. Highly recommend and I'm already trying to find a reason to come back!

We expected a much better experience at the Fairmont given the reputation and price point, but overall the stay felt underwhelming. Trivago unfortunately made an error with our booking and we ended up in a family style street view room as a couple. While not the hotel’s fault, the room itself felt dated and showed noticeable wear and tear, including water damage, rough flooring, poorly closing doors, chipped balcony cement, and at times a strong sewage smell from the bathroom. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the 6th floor pool area, which has beautiful views and a great atmosphere. Breakfast is also served there each morning. Vegan options were somewhat limited, but manageable. The Copacabana location is convenient for the full tourist experience, with restaurants, shopping, and the beach all right nearby. One frustrating experience was trying to visit the rooftop area in the evening. We were not informed that reservations were required, so we were initially turned away and directed to sit in the lobby area, which felt awkward since there is no proper lobby bar or service there. We ended up making a reservation ourselves online just to get access for cocktails. There was also an added entertainment fee because live music was being set up, even though we were only there briefly for drinks and didn’t actually stay for the performance. Overall, service was fine, but nothing particularly memorable or reflective of a luxury Fairmont experience.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had despite staying in many hotels around the world. From start to finish, the service was extremely disappointing. Management showed very little interest in resolving issues or even acknowledging concerns raised during the stay. Problems were ongoing throughout, yet there was no sense of urgency or care from the team to improve the situation. The hotel restaurant was another constant frustration. We were repeatedly told it was fully booked, yet on multiple occasions it was clearly half empty, which made the experience feel poorly managed and unnecessarily restrictive for guests. Even simple things like room service orders were never correct constantly being told they have ran out of basic things such as soft drinks. When going to the pool or beach always being told they have no towels which is shocking for the price they charge to stay there. The most frustrating incident was the airport transfer arranged by the hotel. Our bags were lost during the transfer, and incredibly, there was no apology, follow up, or accountability from the hotel afterwards. This lack of basic customer care was shocking. Overall, the experience felt disorganised, indifferent, and far below the standards expected from a hotel of this level. Sadly, I would not return or recommend staying here
