Not worth the money, not worth a reservation, not worth our time or respect. We scheduled a brunch on Easter six months in advance, yet they didn’t have a table for us. The waiter kept pushing us to start serving ourselves because the table was ‘almost ready’—which never happened. After an hour, we left, and no one cared that we were leaving. It was really fun watching people eat and enjoy their Easter treats. Don’t waste your time. The street vendors on the beach right in front of this place will definitely give you a good time with kindness, joy and respect. Another tourist trap

We had lunch at Copacabana Palace. It's a lovely setting next to the pool. I had a green salad which included a soft mild cheese, roasted pine nuts and cherry tomatoes. It was very good. The portion was quite large. The greens were mostly whole leaves, and the raddichio was a bit challenging to cut.

Our recent stay at Copacabana Palace during Carnival was nothing short of extraordinary. There are iconic hotels, and then there are institutions. Copacabana Palace is the latter — a place where history, elegance, and impeccable service converge seamlessly. From the moment we arrived, every detail felt intentional. The team operates with a rare balance of warmth and discretion — attentive without intrusion, refined without stiffness. During one of the busiest and most demanding weeks of the year, the level of organization and care never wavered. That alone speaks volumes about the leadership and culture of the hotel. Carnival at the Palace is an experience in itself. The atmosphere, the energy, the seamless coordination for Baile do Copa, and the thoughtful touches throughout our stay made us feel genuinely valued. Even small gestures — beautifully curated amenities, personalized service, and genuine smiles — elevated the entire experience. What sets Copacabana Palace apart is not only its grandeur or location, but the people behind it. True luxury is measured in consistency and attention to detail, and this team delivers both flawlessly. We left with unforgettable memories and deep appreciation. Copacabana Palace is not simply a place to stay in Rio — it is part of the story. Highly recommended for anyone seeking timeless elegance and world-class hospitality.

Never come here if you are worried about your security. Rio is a city with high crime and as a single traveler I chose this highly reputed property to stay safe. As you can see clearly in the video, they failed to check that the door was locked.

How would someone not rate the Copacabana Palace 5/5? Top tier Brazilian (or should I say carioca) hospitality. Special thanks to staff who made our stay even more special: Luisa and Beatriz at the front desk, for accommodating our requests; Kauam for walking us to and around our room; Ari for providing spectacular table service (and olive oil masterclass) at the Pérgula breakfast; Deborah for assisting us at the pool area, and last but not least Agatha for walking us through a lovely, history-filled guided tour around the property, which was the cherry on top of our stay. Although everyone was extra nice, these professionals stood out and made our experience worth all the while. Would book again and am looking forward to coming back soon!
