Outstanding!! What a great stay at Hotel Arena! First it was very safe: this was our top priority in choosing a place to stay. The security guard inside the hotel did a fabulous job making sure only guest came inside. Outside the grounds a large police presence was constantly surrounding the hotel. Second the staff was amazing. Sara checked us in and was able to get us into our room earlier than the checkin time smoothly and very welcoming. Third our room was beautiful, comfortable bed and pillows. Our house keeper was fantastic and kept our room nice and clean. Also we had a quiet stay no problem with sound from neighboring rooms Fourth the morning breakfast was fresh and delicious with an attentive staff that constantly upkept the food. Finally the location is ideal for seeing Copacabana, Arpoador, and Ipanema just perfect. I Highly recommend choosing Arena Ipanema hotel. My wife and I look forward to our next visit here. 😀👏🏖🌴😎🌊

Stayed 5 nights. Location is excellent and aparador rocks just behind the hotel, with the nice part of Ipanema beach just there. Walk to Ipanema centre, Copocabana beach ...very secure area. Breakfast is very good and varied. We ate one night at the restaurant and that was excellent. Pool is tiny and no views though... Rooms are clean and bathroom OK. Noise insulation was not great even facing the park, but hard to find that in Brazil... Friendly if not personal service hence not 5*. And value for money could be better but recommended given what else there is on offer. We enjoyed our stay and felt safe throughout. At the right price this would be a top recommendation

This is the perfect place to stay in Rio. We felt very safe as there were police that are constantly stationed outside of the entrance to the park right next to the hotel. It was very clean, the staff were very kind and accommodating and the location was amazing. It was a short walk down to Ipanema beach which is exactly where you want to be. We felt it was a great value for what we paid. The only issue was that it was very hot in the hallways and the elevator had some issues while we were there but those things were very minor. I will absolutely return to stay again.

Even though it is next to the beach; do not expect any ocean views. There are none! We stayed on the suite section, the rooms are great! Lots of space, and great amenities… HOWEVER, the pool was extremely dirty, and was the size of a jacuzzi but they say it is a pool; the gym was a dirty room with 2 non-functional equipments, and the dinning area was like a public school cafeteria. If you stay on their regular hotel; it is more of what you would expect. HOWEVER! Rooms are very small (smaller than rooms in Europe) and during all of our stay elevators where an issue; they broke down a lot.

Pros: staff and location. There are too many options to stay at this hotel. Rooms are unbelievably small. Road noise can be heard through the windows. Breakfast is adequate and location is good but the street seemed much less safer than others we walked down.
