What a great first meal in Rio. Cold draft beer and bold, refreshing caipirinhas. We tried lime and strawberry, both fresh and more punchy than what we’re used to. The vinagrete de polvo was outstanding, flavourful, garlicky, and bright. The salmon ceviche had a clean acidity, and the grilled shrimp were deeply seasoned and full of flavour. It gets very busy and crowded. You do need a bit of patience to place your order, but once it’s in, the food comes out quickly. No complaints there. The atmosphere is lively, loud, and very Carioca. A fantastic introduction to the city. We’d absolutely go back to try more petiscos. Highly recommended!

Amazing place. Found it years ago, and always like a treat to come and eat and drink. Talk about history. Amazing place!

Came just before noon when it was moderately empty and left an hour later when a queue was starting to form outside The service is friendly and helpful and they have a long menu but I picked from the display case. I don’t speak Portuguese but the server was very patient and nice! Got fried fish eggs and salmon, which were great! I also got the oysters but they weren’t very good - tasted extremely salty and fishy. Their WiFi is super fast, but because the place is crowded I left early.

We really enjoyed our dinner here! Maybe even 5 star. Big selection of food. LOVED the simple but delicious black bean soup with pork belly, cheap and filling and tastes great! Also the cold octopus with vinegar and seasoning. And the sardine. The shrimp rice for one person was good and actually enough for two people. Our server was super nice, smiling, patient, and helpful. They have nice drinks here too. Outdoor seating looked fine, but we stayed inside which is comfortable and many seats. Glad we came here and will come back for sure.
