Blown away!! This was an “accidental” dinner as my original place’s kitchen closed early. They said check this place out, and man am I glad I did. For Iceland, and myself being from the southwestern US, the interior was way cozy and beautiful. I’ll have to hand it to the service and food for the grand prize. Freyja was very professional, attentive, and kind! The food runner was very knowledgeable as well knowing all about each ingredient. Each bite of every dish took me to a different land, you could really taste the personality of the food. This is now on my must do if I ever visit again!!! I had the lobster, lamb, and beef, along with chocolate cake. My pictures don’t do the taste justice. Just fantastic. Thank you guys for an unforgettable dining experience!!
One of the best dining experiences of my life. I agree with other reviews that this place deserves a Michelin star. The food tells a story. I giggled with delight and swooned with love at different courses. The meal was beautiful, joyful, and alive. The environment is warm. The drinks are as bright and smiling as the food. I am so grateful that the chefs put so much care and effort into their vegan options as well. A truly blissful experience—I am so glad I made this my splurge meal of the trip! Additionally, The staff were lovely
I honestly do not know how this is not a Michelin star restaurant. The service, presentation and quality of the dishes were 10 out of 10! I ordered the Icelandic Gourmet Feast and I highly recommend! If I lived in Iceland near here, I would come here at least once a month for an amazing evening. Look forward to coming back next time I am in Iceland!
10/10 restaurant. We were so grateful that they served us with almost last minute of closing. Cuz it’s the only restaurant where the kitchen was not closed at around 22:50, so we at first didn’t have very high expectation. However, our minds were blown away after tasting their tapas. They have the best tapas in Iceland. The scollops and shrimps in garlic are soo freshly cooked, very juicy, tender, and just at the very fine texture. The seasoning is excellent! Sauces are unique and balanced, perfectly pair with the natural flavours of the gods itself. Every dish looks like Michelin-style plating. And the service is so good as well! The lady is very friendly and professional. She recommended me to have white wine sangria since I ordered ling. the pan fried Ling is handled very well with perfect seasoned smashed potatoes and other sides, truly is very delicious with this wine! Highly recommend to anyone who wants tapas and Icelandic dishes all in one!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful restaurant! Tapas Barinn literally saved our night — their kitchen is open late! After our long tour we were starving and called a bunch of places, but this was the only one still serving. The food was amazing, and fam, you have to try the lobster tails baked in garlic — unreal! 🦞🔥
