Amazing food, interesting flavor combinations and great value for the money (considering the prices in Iceland in general). Tacos are a must-try 😋 10/10 service,10/10 atmosphere and 100/10 food. Absolutely recommend

This is my husband and I’s go to spot for date night when we visit Iceland. Most recently was for our honeymoon and we got the cocktail of the week which I remember to be some sort of Blueberry Sour, the Bumble Bee, and for food we ordered the tower which included langoustine tacos, slow cooked cod and these fried balls that I honestly can’t remember but they were also very good. For our main course we got the catch of the day and the salmon. Everything was delicious and we will continue to go back. The prices reflect the atmosphere, food and cocktail presentation and taste and service fairly.

We had just arrived in Reykjavik, done some initial sight-seeing and were hungry for some great meal. Sjavargrillith was not our first target, but boy, we did not regret coming here. The interior was cool, the food spectacular, beautifully presented and very delicious. Would definitely come back here again!

About halfway up Rainbow Road, this spot came highly recommended—and it lived up to the hype. Rustic-hip décor, friendly service, and warm bread with whipped butter served on a lava slab set the tone. The scallops and cod were perfectly cooked, the sashimi was excellent, and the Parmesan baked potatoes were an indulgent delight. Delicious food, great service, and a cool setting. Pro tip: make a reservation, especially in tourist season.

Having dined at several excellent restaurants in Iceland, Sjávargrillið was a disappointment. The deep-fried lobster and sushi were good, but the rest of the food was underwhelming and fairly average. The dishes felt like they were trying too hard to be creative, with too many elements competing on the plate and flavors that didn’t come together well. Service was friendly but painfully slow. For the price, we expected much better.
