Unfortunately this lovely hotel no longer controls it's catering / breakfast side. Whilst the hotel itself is good, the breakfast is by far the worst I have ever encountered. Coffee is batch premade and undrinkable, the food selection is both cheap and poor. Staff can't be be bothered to make a proper coffee on the machine, both days. So very sad

The Hotel Borg is perfectly located in central Reykjavik. Restaurants and grocery stores are super close. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. I liked the fact that they had traditional Icelandic foods and signs explaining it. There is no AC in the rooms and they run pretty warm. You can open the balcony doors, but there are no screens. Rooms are an ok size, but more on the smaller side. I had no issues during our stay, but the couple we traveled with had to change their room twice. Once because the room itself had a funky smell and the other was due to a mildew smelling shower curtain. There are only like four parking spots on the street in front of the hotel, so unloading is a bit of a challenge. Parking is available in the underground garage under city hall. It’s a short walk and recommend using the Parka app.

Great location and super friendly staff. We had a great experience at this hotel. Rooms were really nice, clean and well styled. We had so many questions being our first day in Iceland and Claudia was amazing giving us recommendations for restaurants, shops and the northern lights viewing locations. We hope to visit again.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a great selection of food. Even though it was Saturday evening, you couldn't hear anything going on outside in the room.

Cute art deco hotel conveniently located in Reykjavik. Rooms vary in size. The room I stayed in needed some upkeep: paint, replacing bulbs, fixture corrections. Niceties were a great breakfast spread, a comfortable bed, heated bathroom floor, and towel warmers. No on-site parking so prepare for paying for parking lots or garages with walks to/from the hotel. Bus stops nearby are frequently used by tour companies for pickup - specifically Bus stops #1 and #3 which are less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Overall a nice hotel - especially if you use tour companies exclusively. If you plan to roadtrip, finding parking can be challenging at different times of the year/day so do your research.
