We had an amazing experience at this place. My favourite dish was reindeer steak . It was cooked to perfection. My girlfriend preferred lamb chops, and honestly I have to agree it was better than in any French restaurant in Paris we went to which is a lot.
I dined here during my time in Iceland and it was unbelievable. It is a stunning restaurant with cool aesthetics. I dined alone so ordered a la carte. I had the whale steak for starter which was highly recommended. It was cooked well and had a great baste and sauce to go with it. For main I had one of the speciality cut beef steaks with a side of mash and chimichurri. The flavours were great and the steak was so tender and cooked well. For dessert I had the melting chocolate with ice cream, which had the theatrics at the table which was enjoyable. Also had a glass of wine. Staff there were attentive and friendly. Couldn't fault the experience, would go back if I could!
Did the tasting menu and it was 100% worth it. Everything was outstanding, especially the lamb and reindeer sliders. They even made a vegan “steak” for our vegetarian guest that looked incredible and he loved it. Whale wasn’t my favorite, just personal preference. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
I went to dine at Grillmarkaðurinn with my family today. Everything was so perfect. First of all, thank you so much Dasha for your amazing service — you truly made our experience at the restaurant so enjoyable! The food was simply great, the menu is very diverse and there is a dish for everyone (even picky eaters). Grillmarkaður will forever be my favorite restaurant in downtown Reykjavik! 🩷🙏
Had the tasting menu for 12 people. The dishes had absolutely amazing quantity and quality. Friendly and attentive staff! Several of our group ate here twice in one week.
