We had our wedding reception at Sherwood Queenstown and had the most incredible experience. We honestly can’t recommend them enough for your next event, stay, or even just dining at the restaurant. From start to finish, everything was seamless. A huge thank you to Leah and the team for making the entire planning process so easy and completely stress-free. On the day, we felt so looked after- nothing was ever too much trouble, whether it was a drink, a check-in, or making sure everything ran perfectly behind the scenes. The wedding reception itself was absolutely beautiful. The venue looked stunning, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was genuinely to die for - so many of our guests are still talking about it. We also stayed overnight and the hotel experience was just as amazing. The room was spotless and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like a bottle of wine and a lovely note waiting for us. We had the best stay and the comfiest sleep. Every part of the experience exceeded expectations. We couldn’t recommend Sherwood enough – for weddings, events, dining, or a stay. Everything was amazing from beginning to end.
I stayed here for one night and honestly wish it had been longer. From the moment I arrived, the place felt calm and welcoming, without trying too hard. My suite was beautiful and very comfortable — the kind of place you immediately relax in. It felt more like a retreat than just somewhere to sleep. (Also, the teas were great.) The restaurant really surprised me. I hadn’t eaten food that good in a long time! — the kind where you take a bite and everything else stops for a moment. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively at the same time, which made it easy to stay longer (and eat more) than planned. And last but not least - the staff. Everyone I interacted with (hola Argentina y Chile!) was genuinely kind, helpful, and human—no script, no stiffness, just wonderful human beings who clearly care. ❤️
Absolutely amazing experience! I called ahead to make a reservation, and everything was perfectly organized when we arrived — they truly met all my expectations. The food was incredible, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff was even better: friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The place itself is beautiful with a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Stayed one night prior to our flight. Convenient to the airport, yet quiet. Reminiscent of an older ski lodge. We got upgraded to a duplex, with a sitting room (with sleep couches)and bathroom downstairs, and two bedrooms upstairs, total of 6 beds. Nice lake view from the patio. Very small bathroom; it would be interesting with the number of guests this suite could accommodate. No USB outlets. The layout of the hotel is a maze, somewhat constrained by the steep piece of property it is on. The lobby has been relocated to a small area away from the from the original grand entrance (the first driveway off Goldfield Heights Road). The restaurant seemed a bit pricey, so we walked to the Italian restaurant in the Holiday Inn across the way. Staff was friendly, though we had little interaction besides check-in and out.
The Sherwood is my number 1 spot in Queenstown. The restaurant is on another level, fresh, innovative and amazing service. The rooms are stylish and fun without overdoing. Staff are great and you really feel a vibe. A plus is it’s location a 5 min drive from the center of Queenstown which is perfect to unwind from the crowds. I’ll be back!
