Visiting from Auckland, New Zealand, I had a fantastic time with two friends. We indulged in a delightful array of dishes, including drinks, a bottle of wine, oysters, crudo, venison, gnocchi, salmon, and the deconstructed cheesecake. Each dish was exceptional, but the venison dish truly stood out as one of the most memorable culinary experiences of my life. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance was great. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Queenstown, and I can’t wait to return.
Pretty much perfect visit to Rata while visiting Queenstown. Stepping into Rata I felt immediate relief from the crazy tourist packed streets of Queenstown. The space is beautiful, relatively quiet, and very comfortable. Our server was friendly polished and professional. Our meal was flawless and a treat, great local food options. We had the cheese donuts and octopus as starters, and the salmon and Wagyu steak as mains. Everything was prepared perfectly. I’d never had Wagyu steak before and it was amazing. Highly recommend Rata. It would be on our regular rotation if we lived in Queenstown!
We reserved a table for two via the website and opted for the Tasting Menu. The restaurant was decorated in trendy and laid-back design, with spacious seating. The staff were friendly and provided brief introductions for each course. Every dish featured beautiful plating and high-quality ingredients, from oyster, beef, salmon etc., though we felt a few could have been a bit more creative in their execution. The cocktails were also a highlight, which were tasty and freshy. If you're in Queenstown, Rātā is definitely worth a visit.
Amazing dinner experience! From the moment we arrived Rata, we were warmly greeted by the staff, and the service was very attentive. Food was well presented and made with fresh ingredients. The lamb shoulder was definitely the highlight! Highly recommend to share the lamb shoulder and you won’t be disappointed. Overall, Rata is 100% maintaining their high standards and keeping all the guests satisfied.
It's rare when you enjoy every single dish ordered on the menu. From good cocktails to the lamb neck, and definitely can't go wrong with rosti. The staff was also very friendly. We will be coming back!
