Fantastic food, great drinks, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere. Came here with family on our last night in Queenstown and this restaurant did not disappoint. The cuisine and dishes were unique and delicious! Please definitely get the calamari appetizer - it is the best item on the menu. Michelle was our server and she did a fabulous job making recommendations and being attentive. Do not miss out on this amazing food!
WOW! I’ve been waiting eight years since I moved to Queenstown to have the opportunity to come and eat here. It was so worth the wait! Everything was impeccable! I thought it was super special to have the cocktail artist of the year come to the table and recommend me a drink with something I was after but not quite sure! I loved his confidence that the drink of choice would be perfect and it was! Not too sweet just right. On to the food! We started with the Kokoda, followed by the scallops and tuna poke nachos. All of which were fresh and amazing flavours! Very different from “normal” or standards tastes! We moved on to the big Kahuna plates and ordered the Boil Up and the chicken curry with a side of rice. Holy wow! Everything was just perfect! I am seriously impressed. The service was perfect, not too pushy, was there when needed and super helpful. Loved that even though we were fist table we didn’t get treated any differently and were able to also select a seat of choice. Thanks for making us feel equal!
The food was delicious and tasty. Some flavours were a little overwhelming. We ordered a frw things and the tuna and salmon from starters menu were definitely a must have. The korean fried chicken was good but a little too rich in flavour for our liking. The ribs was good as well however it needed to be eaten or balanced with something else on the side. The duck pancake was average, we were expecting it to be tastier. Otherwise, the whole experience was great and I would recommend this place for sure for a date night.
The serving sizes were quite decent and surprisingly large. 3 Star was for the food that was average. We ordered 3 dishes and rice to accompany the curry. The chicken in the chicken curry was dry and it tasted like it was reheated in a microwave as it was hot on one side and luke warm in other sections. The rice was also lukewarm when served which is odd in an Asian restaurant. I didn't like the batter on the tempura egg plant as it was a bit thick. Also it should be made cl at that it's actually not Japanese tempura batter but more fish and chips batter. Better to have just called it battered eggplant. The pork ribs had good flavour and the service was good. My experience is that the food didn't live up to the hype.
Good Asian-style food. Oysters which were fresh. Fried calamari was interesting (and spicy) with the gochujang sauce. Salmon waffle cone was also pretty good. For mains, the braised pork belly tasted pretty good, but meat wasn't very tender and the sauce was a bit too sweet for me. The steamed fish was simple but nice. The koko samoa cheesecake for dessert was VERY nice. My favourite item there.
