Really friendly staff, excellent facilities, and a well-organized environment. The attention to detail is impressive, and it's clear that a lot of thought has gone into ensuring guests have a comfortable stay. There are activities organized every day, including the family dinner, which is not only delicious but also a great way to meet and connect with fellow travelers. Special thanks to Howie for the amazing pasta! The breakfast cereal option is a thoughtful addition and a nice convenience for guests. The recommendation booklet is well curated and was extremely helpful in planning our itinerary and discovering places we might otherwise have missed. I also enjoyed the book collection, which offers a nice selection for anyone looking to unwind with a quick read. The washrooms were generally clean and well maintained throughout my stay, and I didn't encounter any issues. The only minor drawback was that there was usually a queue for the washrooms in the mornings, so there could be a bit of a wait during peak hours. Overall, a great place to stay, with a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of thoughtful touches that enhance the overall experience.
Staying at the Road House Hostel felt like stepping into a place where strangers turn into friends before you even drop your backpack. The people there are genuinely wonderful: warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Everything is clean and well taken care of, which makes it easy to relax and settle in. The people who work here are super nice and helpful. One of the absolute highlights: the daily activities. Every single day brings something fun, social, or adventurous. Whether you’re looking for a chill evening or a spontaneous mini-adventure, you’ll always find something to jump into. It creates a kind of rhythm that makes you want to stay longer than planned. There are also family dinner for only 100 kr (4€) And so delicious!! The only thing I was scared of was the ladder of the bunk beds, especially if you're a little tipsy😂. But if you're not as clumsy as me, you should be fine. In short: fantastic people, a cozy atmosphere, spotless spaces, and a steady stream of cool things to do. A place that doesn’t just offer a bed, but a feeling. Highly recommended!
Best hostel I’ve been to! The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make your experience as nice as possible (shout out to Howie, who manages the place). They’re really key in creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which then makes it easy to socialise and make friends. The beds are super comfy, the showers have nice water pressure, and there’s a family dinner each night. They also run social events in the afternoon and evening, which often pairs with the sister hotel, The Madhouse. Makes it super fun without being a party hostel. Couldn’t recommend The Roadhouse enough!
Excellent hostel. Unbeatable location. Rooms are decent with fairly large amount of storage. You need your own padlock if u want to lock the storage area. There’s groups dinners at night and day time activities. There’s a common living area which is chill and cosy. Had a great stay here and would recommend it.
Super friendly staff and extremely clean and cosy! They run events every day and you can choose to be social or just chill and do your own thing. The family dinners were tasty and so worth the tiny price you pay. Best part was privacy curtains for every bed - why don't more hostels do this 😤 - and 3 private bathrooms instead of stalls. If you're new to staying in hostels this is a great place to start (but I fear your expectations may be too high afterwards for other hostels...) 😄 Would 100% come back!!
