The library offered views of two magnificent halls, which you can admire from a distance, but visitors are not allowed to enter them. The ticket costs 7 euros. The halls were absolutely beautiful and very impressive. Inside, you can also see a collection of old globes, as well as collections of insects and precious stones. Overall, it’s a visually stunning place, even though access to the main halls is limited. Behind the library, there is a large park that offers amazing panoramic views of the city, which makes the visit even more worthwhile.
It was a 5 minutes walk from th tram station (we took tram 22). We did not buy the ticket for the gallery, we only bought the library ticket. It is a beautiful place, you can only view it or take photos from the outside. Then there are plenty of collections on display. I think it will be an easier walk to the Prague castle from here than the the ascent from Malostranka tram station.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! This was the top of my bucket list. I love books and libraries, so visiting the place was like heaven (exaggeration here ^_^). I almost cried when I first came then the counter teller said no more tickets for the day. So, the next day, I came early! The libraries' ceiling were spectacular. The designs were breathtaking, that's all I can say. The different sizes of globes and maps are amazing too. Sadly, we couldn't get in and see up close the library and books, which we understand to protect the books and things inside. Though, we saw a group that managed to go in via a tour group, but I think still restricted. To those who love books, I highly recommend this place.
Don’t miss one of the most beautiful libraries in Europe! Even if you can only see it from the hall, it’s still worth paying a visit since there’s a fine mix of artwork in the little museum braided with history. Some interesting ones to mention: • how silk threads are obtained, • minerals collection for those passionate about mineralogy/geology (garnet/granat is their “national” mineral, with the highest occurrence, that’s why you’ll see many jewelry stores named after it), • beautiful paintings I bought tickets online but there is also a machine there you can buy tickets from.
This library took my breath away. I haven't visited any libraries that are historic such as this one, so perhaps I can't compare but I can say that this is one hell of a library. We paid 140czk each to enter. It's a small walk up some stairs and you're there. There's a few historical books upon entering and then you are presented with the library itself. Don't be fooled by TikTok videos though, you can't go inside the library, you can only stand outside of it to peer in. It's absolutely beautiful though. Outside there's various artifacts including the cabinet of curiosities, some old globes, precious stoned, and some beautiful paintings before you reach the second library (I hadn't expected another one) you can't enter this one either but peering in was enough for me. 10/10!!
