I had heard about Kantýna before my trip to Prague and really wanted to try it. The bank atmosphere is unique, and the gentleman at the entrance was very kind, he gives you the ticket at the start and handles the payment at the end. I tried the potato soup, which was different from what I’m used to; it was fine, and the meat in it was a nice addition. However, the real highlight was the beef tartare with garlic and toast, it was definitely the best choice. The portions were generous and the food quality was great. My only complaint is the staff at the food counter; he was quite indifferent and less than friendly when I ordered. Despite this, it's a must-visit spot in Prague.

Amazing place! Great price and quality. Went there on the first night of the trip for dinner. The meat was deliciously tender and the additional food such as vegetables was also perfectly cooked. The place is rather crowded but that creates a great atmosphere and truly shows the place is appreciated 😊 I would go here again and again 💕

First of all, we placed our orders quickly. You can get any type of meat you want in any quantity. They give you a number written on the bone 😬 then you go to your desired table and they bring it to you. The meat tasted amazing. It was cooked exactly as we requested, and I will order again; it was very delicious. It was a wonderful experience in Prague. Thank you. 🌸🌸

We visited Kantýna for lunch on December 13, 2025, shortly after opening time. Despite arriving early, the place was already busy, which says a lot about its popularity. The atmosphere is more like a lively canteen or food hall than a traditional restaurant. You may need to wait in line, and the seating area can feel quite crowded, with tables placed very close together. There is also the option to eat standing up, but we preferred to sit down since we were visiting with our young daughter. What really stands out is the food. The selection is huge, and there is something for everyone. The beef tartare was outstanding—easily one of the highlights of our meal. I also had the brisket, which was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Our daughter chose the chicken schnitzel and loved it, which is quite a compliment since she is usually a very picky eater. The beers were excellent as well. Service was friendly and efficient, although some waiting is inevitable because of how busy the restaurant is. In our opinion, Kantýna works better as a lunch destination than a relaxed dinner spot. If you're looking for a quiet, spacious, and comfortable evening meal, there are probably better options in Prague. However, if your priority is outstanding meat, great beer, and an authentic local experience, Kantýna is absolutely worth visiting. We would definitely come back.

Kantýna is something special, it’s a bustling, local spot with a unique atmosphere that feels like a modern take on a traditional butcher hall. The cooked meats were outstanding, and we absolutely loved the Garlic Potato Pancake.
