Havelská Koruna is a great place to try authentic Czech cuisine right in the heart of the Old Town. Because of its central location, there was a long queue when I visited, but since the restaurant operates in a fast-food / canteen-style model, the line moved quickly and the wait wasn’t too long. The restaurant was completely full, so finding a free seat can be a bit challenging, but the turnover is fast if you’re patient. I ordered the goulash with a dark Czech beer, and both were excellent — flavorful, hearty, and very authentic. The food is delicious, traditional, and reasonably priced, especially considering the location in the city centre. It’s a perfect spot if you want a quick, honest Czech meal without paying tourist prices. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience local food in a casual, no-frills setting.
The food is really good! We visited on both days we were in Prague. There you can choose from the fixed menu the option of dish that you want, but I think that you can choose a protein and the different sides as you pay for each component of your dish. On the first day we had one dish with Schnitzel with Potato Salad, and Smoked Pork with Knedlíčky (like potato Dumplings / German Knodel) and Sauerkraut. We also had Pilsener Urquell beer! The following day I tried the Beef soup and my boyfriend had Gulash and it was also delicious. Everything we tried was really good and well prepared. I also tried the Non Alcoholic beer with pomelo and grape fruit and it is delicious and fresh!!! I would say that it is a really great spot to try really goood traditional Czech food with a really nice price. We payed with card!!
This is a representative restaurant serving traditional Czech cuisine. It is a well-known spot among locals, so I visited based on recommendations from several people. I made a reservation in advance, and upon arriving at the scheduled time, I was seated without any waiting. All the recommended dishes were delicious, and the Kolenu, ribs, and sides tasted better than expected. The dark beer and lemonade were also excellent. Although the prices are a bit on the higher side, it was within a reasonable range considering the superb food and service. I believe this is a must-visit restaurant when visiting Prague.
This is a self service joint where you pick the specific meal on the menu, then proceed to get your drink. Your food will be recorded on a form. There is free seating which is very comfortable and the dishes were cleared by the staff promptly upon completion. Then pay at the cashier before you leave . The food is good and reasonably priced considered it is located in the middle of old town. Everything was well organised
Had a truly wonderful dining experience here! The schnitzel was absolutely delicious and hearty. What made the meal even better was how remarkably affordable everything was for such a quality food. Beyond the great value, the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and patient. They took their time to give us excellent recommendations from the menu, which we really appreciated as visitors. A fantastic meal with top-tier service that won't break the bank!
