If you are looking for an affordable and unforgettable stay in Prague, this is the place to be! I can’t speak for the hotel part, but the hostel/shared room section is excellent and makes your trip incredibly cheap. All you need is a small padlock for your locker to sleep with peace of mind, and you are good to go. The best thing about this place is how easy it is to socialise. Thanks to the communal kitchen and the huge reception area, it’s impossible not to make friends. During our stay, we hung out with people from all over Europe, including Spain, and made great friends with travelers from Germany, New Zealand, and France. The staff is also amazing and very understanding. One night before going out, they let us drink inside the facilities. At one point, we were playing cards with some Germans and got a bit too loud, and the staff asked us to lower our voices, but they did it in a super polite and respectful way. The location is another huge plus. It’s very close to the center, and there is a tram stop right outside the door. Tram 22 passes right there, which connects you directly to every single tourist spot, nightlife area, and point of interest in the city. As Erasmus students traveling on a budget, this hostel was an absolute savior. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience Prague for cheap without missing out on a great international atmosphere!
I stayed at Czech Inn for two nights during the first week in March 2026, and was extremely happy with my stay. I booked a single room and it was amazing – very clean, quiet and comfortable. It did not feel like hostel accommodation at all, but more like a lovely 4-star hotel room. The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful, which made the stay even better. It really is a gem in Prague and I would definitely come back. Highly recommended.
Overall good experience with Czech Inn. Similar to other reviews, there is one small elevator for the whole building which means you might have to wait a bit to get in. Stayed in private room, main issue was smell (smelled like wet paint but was told that’s the normal smell of the rooms due to dampness/moisture). Lights to room entryway and bathroom are motion sensor, so sometimes the lights will turn off in the middle of showering. AC was not working and shower drain didn’t drain, but the staff was responsive in getting it taken care of the next day. Laundry machines are iffy (plan 2.5+ hours to get through one load). Great hostel to meet lots of people through events and common spaces. For the price, was a good stay.
I really can’t recommend Czech Inn highly enough! It was recommended to me by two friends from the US who had stayed here previously, and they were spot on. I stayed for 3 nights in a private room with private bathroom. It was as comfortable as a higher end hotel - with a towel warmer, hair dryer, heat/AC, and everything else you’d need - but at a much lower price. And with the ground floor common area/cafe and basement bar, you get the communal aspect of a hostel so it’s really the best of both worlds combining comfort and socialization. The staff (Alex) was incredibly helpful when I had an issue with my room, and got it sorted out right away. And I thought the location was perfect - it’s a little outside the tourist/Old Town district, but right on a major tram line that will get you everywhere you want to go in about 20 mins. The trams run frequently and on-time, so transport was no problem. My only caution for light sleepers would be try to request a room on the side of the hotel away from the big street with the tram because it’s a little loud. On the other corner of the hotel I had no noise problem at all. I wish I could have stayed longer! If I ever come back to Prague I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
I stayed in the hostel for 10 days (8-bunk). Overall I had a positive experience. The community areas were certainly the highlight mainly the cafe/bar. I had no problems making friends as a solo traveller. The bunks and showers are average aren’t all that impressive. I really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood vibe. The local cafes and restaurants are a huge benefit to this area (especially U Bohouse!). I’d certainly come back next time I’m in town!
