Food is very good, Southern Thai style. Phuket stewed pork was soft with sweet bean based sauce and pomelo salad had a tang. If you want a different type of vegetable, do try Malinjo leaves with egg (it is a south east asian vegetable and those from elsewhere may want to try it). The large fish with curry sauce was very good as well, fresh and crispy with light coconut curry sauce. The area has plenty cafe one plate type restaurants and if you want communual dining, this is the place.

Good location in the Phuket Old Town, walking distance to our hotel. That is the best foods I have tried during my 4 days holidays in Phuket. Worth for the title of Michelin rated restaurant.

Had a good meal at Tu Kab Khao. The standout dish was definitely the crab meat fried rice — very fragrant and packed with generous crab meat. The pineapple fried rice, deep-fried pork belly and stir-fried cabbage were all tasty and well executed. The crab meat omelette was satisfying, and we ended the meal with mango sticky rice which had nicely fragrant rice and ripe mango. Overall, it was an enjoyable Thai meal with solid flavours across the dishes. The only downsides were the number of flies flying around the dining area and the use of chipped plates for serving, which slightly affected the overall dining experience.

We ordered the stir-fried prawns with garlic, pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, and the Tom Yum soup (I think that’s how it’s called), and everything was absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavor and really well prepared. The service was impressively fast, especially considering we arrived around dinner time when it was getting busy. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Overall, a great experience with excellent food and service. I would definitely come back!

I had much higher expectations after all the recognition this place has received. For me, the best Thai restaurant in Phuket (Michelin recognized) is still Kin-Kub-Ei, in Thalang area That said, the restaurant here is clean, the food is good, but not exceptional or “wow” as I expected. The service is kind and attentive. I recommend booking in advance, as it can get busy.
