A Thai restaurant with southern Thai cuisine, a wide variety of seafood and other large and beautiful dishes, and unique flavors that really cannot be found in other restaurants. The restaurant received a Michelin star, but I don't care about that. I ate several dishes and most of them were very delicious. Each dish comes with a different flavor and a different color. The service is great and fast and the style of the place is very pastoral. Beautiful buildings made of straw and wood that sit on the shore of the lake/sea. The place is very spacious and large. I highly recommend the chicken cashew dish and the shrimp curry dish, a unique flavor👌
Hidden gem in the mangroves. It's a bit off the beaten track, we only went here on a recommendation from our local Taxi driver and we were so glad we did! This place is unassuming and if you didn't know about it you'd never find it or go. It was excellent. Authentic Thai cuisine, in a different setting. We were there kind of early at 7pm, The staff were very good and the food service was fast. We were four adults and we ate, the special fried rice, crab curry, squid in black ink, chicken "n"cashews, fried pork, crab rolls and blue rice. It was all amazing, so much flavour, the portions were great and it was a very fair price! I would recommend if you don't like spicy food you ask for no chilli's in the rice. Overall was a great experience, staff and food were great! Take some bug spray and you will have an amazing time!
One of the Best spots for Authentic Thai Seafood restaurants in Phuket. We didn’t know where out tour Driver was taking us but I guess he knows where to go! The Seafood was super fresh and the Thai flavors really stood out in every dish we had… We even order a few dishes twice because we couldn’t get enough… Put this on your “Bucket list” if you’re going to be in Phuket!
Delicious food in an unassuming space. Mor Mu Dong is a hidden treasure, tucked away near a mangrove forest in Chalong, Phuket. The restaurant is about a 12 minute walk from my hotel, so I was really excited to check out a Michelin Guide restaurant that was so close to where I was staying. The food did not disappoint! I came on the last evening of my trip to Thailand, so I didn’t have much cash on me, but fortunately my server (a very nice lady) informed me that credit card is accepted with a minimum order of 500 THB. I had originally intended to just have a Singha beer and a signature entrée, but I needed to order an additional dish to reach the credit card threshold so I asked my server which dish she would recommend. She recommended the crab rolls, and it was an impeccable choice. I ended up ordering the crab rolls and the Mor Mu Dong signature fried rice for dinner. The meal came with a complimentary plate of fresh and flavourful fruit (guava, mango, and pineapple) with a side of sweet and spicy fish sauce dip (nam pla wan) - which, as a person of southeast Asian descent, I very much appreciated. The fried rice was very well seasoned and came with a side plate of cucumber and fish sauce. The crab rolls? Divine. Each order of crab rolls came with five generous-sized rolls and a sweet and sour dipping sauce. The rolls were juicy and flavourful and just the right amount of food, leaving me very satisfied but not overstuffed. The restaurant itself is outdoors with no air conditioning, so I would recommended going for dinner later in the evening if you don’t want to sit in the heat (but make sure you load up in the bug spray to ward off mosquitoes). Most of the signage is in Thai, so I wasn’t sure at first if I had arrived at the right place, but the front of house staff were very friendly and brought me to a table right away. I would highly recommended making a stop here for authentic southern Thai cuisine. The food is great and the price is very reasonable.
The restaurant is Michelin-rated and quite spacious, with its own parking available. The food is seriously delicious, especially the stuffed fish — it tastes like a fried hor mok, which I loved. Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. There’s no air-conditioning, but the breeze keeps the place comfortably cool. I really enjoyed it.
