The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, and the architecture of the rooms is truly impressive and unique. The design alone makes the stay special. A special thank you to Arif for his outstanding hospitality and for taking such great care of us. He did an amazing job decorating the room for the birthday celebration — it made the experience even more memorable. The only downside was the restaurant. The food honestly did not live up to the reviews. We tried a variety of dishes, and each time it was disappointing. This hotel truly deserves a stronger culinary team to match its incredible setting. That said, the service overall was excellent, and the staff were consistently warm and friendly.
The hotel is truly unique and feels like a completely different world compared to most hotels. The atmosphere and design are very special, and the breakfast was excellent. However, there were some small details that should be improved to maintain the luxury experience. There was no hot water during the stay, and the staff started removing breakfast items while we were still eating. Also, the price was extremely high — the cost of one night here could be equal to staying 10 days in another 5-star hotel in Phuket city center. I would recommend trying it for one night only if your budget allows it.
We were on our honeymoon and Keemala was the kind of place that made it feel like one. It’s one of those rare hotels where the reality is actually better than the pictures. We stayed in a private villa with its own pool, an outdoor shower, and jungle on all sides. Waking up to birdsong with nothing but trees and sky in view is hard to explain. You feel very far away from everything in the best possible way. Our butler Yeam was wonderful. Warm, completely unobtrusive, and somehow always one step ahead. That kind of attentiveness is rare and it’s what lifts Keemala above other high-end resorts on the island. Worth every penny. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
Keemala is one of the most unique hotels we’ve stayed at in Phuket. The resort is perched on a lush jungle hillside and the wooden villas blend beautifully with the surrounding nature, ponds and vegetation. Because the property is quite steep, they move guests around with caddies, which makes getting around very easy. The saltwater pool with the waterfall and jungle view is stunning and incredibly relaxing. The whole place feels peaceful and very special. It’s also well located, just a short drive from Kamala and Patong.
We chose Keemala for our honeymoon and overall it was a truly beautiful and memorable experience. The villas are stunning, unique, and incredibly well designed — perfect for a special occasion like a honeymoon. The food, especially at Mala Restaurant, was outstanding. Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere throughout the resort felt peaceful and luxurious. Unfortunately, our experience with our assigned host Ceyla was disappointing. She was not very responsive, and communication became noticeably distant after we shared feedback about a tour she had recommended, which was sponsored by the hotel. The tour itself was very poor, and once we mentioned this, the level of attentiveness and friendliness changed. At the end of our stay, there was no farewell, no thank-you message, and no acknowledgment at all — despite us leaving a generous tip. For a honeymoon and for a resort of this level, this felt impersonal and unexpected. Aside from this, Keemala is a truly exceptional resort, and with more consistent host service, the experience would be close to perfect.
