Reviews from Google
I've looked at the other reviews and it's a mixed bag, so here's the tea: - Decor is themed, so either you love it or hate it, but you can't give them a bad review about a design that is clear in the photos of the property. - Property is in a quiet area of town, close to the pier for transfers, which is exactly why we chose it. Giving bad reviews because the area is quiet is a failing of the guest to do even simple research before booking. - Staff were all good, however the kitchen has a speed problem. Orders repeatedly took 30 mins to come out and they were not busy. Food was good. - Like much of Thailand, the building is cheaply constructed with little or no insulation and all rooms back onto a common courtyard. Closing doors reverberate THROUGHOUT. People talking in the courtyard at 5am sound like a Muslim call to prayer broadcast directly into your room. People in rooms on either side of you may as well be watching TV or tending their kids in your bed with you. We were not impressed! - Bathrooms on our level had a funky smell. Look, if we had had a good night's sleep we'd have loved our stay, but due to problems very hard to rectify after a building is built, we didn't love our stay.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The service was nice and friendly. The facilities are great. But it is a bit of a bait and switch. The ocean looks beautiful at high tide, but at low tide you can see tires and bicycle parts sticking out of the mud. There are a bunch of derelict boats off to the side that you need to ignore. You can't go into the ocean anywhere nearby. Everything is far away and a lot of taxis don't want to pick you up or take you back from the main attractions in the area. It's a great hotel in a terrible location. But it was really relaxing to have a beer by the pool and watch the sun go down.
This is a beautiful hotel with a beachfront. I would stay here again. I am not sure about the bad reviews. The rooms are very spacious. The service is great Yes, it is far from the party scene, but if you want quiet and a beachfront with a great pool for $60 US dollars, tell me where you can find one. The food and drinks exepcional.
So overall not a bad experience. Staff were kind and friendly. It’s a beautiful spot. It’s my only major complaint was the actual construction of the room is so it is LOUD and you can hear other rooms very clearly so wear earplugs. There’s no real hot water in the shower either which is fine but it’s kind of expensive and a different hotel did. But good experience, worth it if you can get it on sale like I did (80% off last minute deal)
The hotel is very clean and air conditioning is awesome. I like that this place has a gym a bar and a laundry service. There's a 7-Eleven about a half mile down the road if you want to walk and grab stuff. No real hot water though I had to enjoy my lukewarm shower. I made the mistake of walking to town. Watch out for large dogs that are not necessarily friendly wandering around.
