Staff behind the desk 24hrs are amazing here. They’re all so happy to help and make sure you have/had a good time. I was well taken care of and my stuff looked after while I went away. But remember it is a backpackers, so very busy and sociable! Thanks team 🤩

It was an okay stay. We had booked the wrong dates on arrival and the staff very kindly re-arranged so we did have somewhere to stay! Which was lovely of them and they were very accommodating. The kitchen was very crowded and the fridges/cupboards where overflowing with bags. I was a little annoyed with the 'cancelation policy' and it probably would have been better if they had said no refund (less fuss!). We booked a night at the hostel then had an offer of free accommodation. I went to ask for a refund and the man said they don't do refunds but they do vouchers that we can sell on to another backpacker. It's a silly idea really because the hostel sold the room on that night so we were $95 out of pocket because no one wanted to buy the room and the hostel still sold our beds at $95 (so they actually made a profit!) Honestly would have been less stress and frustration just to refuse a refund rather than giving vouchers to sell the room on. Otherwise it was an okay stay, there are nicer hostels In the area if you have the budget, but Billabong Is clean and staff are friendly

I usually like to leave a review when I visit places, and I considered not writing this one — but it’s important that others know so they can avoid this place. My roommate attacked me when I came into the room around 2am. She was extremely aggressive and racist, saying this was her country and that I should “be more careful” because she wasn’t afraid. I went to reception for help. One staff member, a young bald man dressed with hippie-style decorations, was completely unhelpful and dismissive — he basically said, “Well, these things happen in a shared room.” The other gentleman, however, was genuinely kind, attentive, and supportive — the only one who treated me well. The hostel itself is extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The kitchen was disgusting, everything was filthy, and the overall quality is terrible. My roommate seemed to live there permanently in a miserable lifestyle. I left after only one night and happily returned to Hostel G, where I had an amazing experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone

please get a better internet plan. having 200 people on a network where one person downloading something can completely nuke the bandwidth is insane. the lag is hitting levels i didn't think were possible.

This place is disgusting do not stay here. believe the negative reviews we booked for one night and didn’t last 4 hours as there was no water in the entire building including the toilets. the man at the desk was telling people to go across to the petrol stations, the park or even the pool to have a shower because and i quote “the pool is clean enough”. i understand that they can’t help these issues but to not notify guests or even offer compensation makes the situation more frustrating for two young female backpackers. additionally the rooms are disgusting the pillows and mattress are all stained in god knows what and the beds are old and unstable with no support bars on top bunk. Everything is old and falling apart don’t waste your travelling money on this place!
