Went with a friend's family, the service was impeccable, the waiters were attentive and answered my questions in great detail regarding the steaks and cocktails which I really appreciated. The chocolate coffee fresh cream dessert was the highlight of the night with how fresh it was! There must have been a mistake in the order as a scotch fillet was served to us but we were allowed to keep it for free, in addition to the correct steak served later which was a nice bonus. The steaks were flavoured really well however some of the cuts like the rump were more gristly (I shouldn't have to be spitting parts of my steak out!) and very tough to chew on despite the expensive price tag. Cafe de Paris was easily the best steak sauce with a beautifully deep herbal flavour. Asparagus with cheese sauce was also a highlight as they were cooked beautifully soft with great flavour. Chips, onion rings and pasta were all good, side salad was difficult to eat as the leaves were cut too big, tasted bitter and the dressing didn't do much for the flavour. The meal came to about $180 per person with plenty of leftovers to take home at least and I really appreciated them packing the food up into boxes for us! Minus our bonus free scotch fillet steak, I do think it would have been a bit too expensive for the quality of food you get.

We went with a tasting menu which came with a hefty price tag of $185 per person for 4 course. For the first course we had la delizia stracciatella, which neither of us really enjoyed, it was just a bit underwhelming. The second course was a step up and consisted of blue swimmer crab poached in brown butter. This was the stand out and was absolutely delicious, can’t really fault it. For mains we had the choice of fillet or fish. The fish was cooked perfectly and the green olive tapenade complemented it well, however was good in only small doses, as it is quite overpowering. The steak fillet was also cooked perfectly. The mains also came with a salad and potato puree. Salad was okay, nothing fancy, could put it together at home. The potato puree was rich and creamy. For dessert we finished on the seasonal tart which was also delicious and all components of it were in harmony and unity. We celebrated our anniversary and they brought out a cupcake to share. While the food was great I just don’t think it was worth the price tag, at least not compared to other places I’ve been to. Service is good, although drink can be a little slow. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I have been to Rockpool a few times over the years and the meals have always been exceptional. Everything from the bread and butter to the mains and desserts are delicious. Dry aged steaks are their specialty and while they aren't cheap, you definitely get what you pay for. The service here has always been very good and I've rarely had to try to get a waiters attention as they have been on top of their game and very attentive. The atmosphere and vibes are quite nice. The entrance hallway to the restaurant has great lighting and a number of windows where you can view the cold rooms where the dry aged cuts are stored.

I recently dined at Rockpool for my birthday dinner and found the food to be absolutely delicious. The dimly lit atmosphere created a pleasant ambiance, which I appreciated. The service was generally good; however, I was disappointed that they did not acknowledge our special occasion with a complimentary dessert or cake slice or something special, despite noting in the booking that it was a “celebration dinner.” Rockpool typically offers this, so it was a bit surprising. Other than that, everything else was great.

Excellent food. My wife really enjoyed her crab starter. I enjoyed the steak tartar. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Caesar salad had quail eggs and was delicious.
