Kailis Brothers Seafood at Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle is definitely worth a visit. It is very busy on weekends, so recommend getting there early or try a weekday. There is an enormous range of seafood options available, catering to just about every taste, whether you prefer freshly BBQ’d seafood or classic fried favourites. The venue is very well set out, with separate sections for fried food and BBQ meals, making ordering simple and efficient. There’s also a dedicated alcoholic bar along with a dessert and coffee section. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. While the outdoor area has lovely fresh air and great waterfront views, the birds can be quite persistent if you’re eating outside, so it’s something to keep in mind. Inside seating is comfortable and spacious, and the entire venue, including the toilets, was impressively clean. Service operates via a buzzer system, which worked smoothly and meant no waiting around wondering when your meal would arrive. There are also assorted salts and vinegars available to help yourself to, while extras such as mayonnaise and tartare sauce can be purchased separately. We ordered the BBQ platter and asked if the fish kebabs could be swapped for fried fish, which the staff were more than happy to accommodate. The seafood was exceptionally fresh, beautifully cooked, and generous in portion size. A fantastic spot for casual seafood dining with plenty of variety and a relaxed atmosphere.
Had a really lovely experience here. The staff were friendly and professional. Even though it was busy and the barista was serving a large group, the manager came over to check on me, which I really appreciated. I could see the barista was very busy, and English is not my first language, so I didn’t know what to say at the time, but she was still so friendly and welcoming. The coffee was nice and hot, really like it. I’ve been coming to Kailis many times and I truly love the food, the service, and the beautiful view. I even recommended this place on Red Note (Xiaohongshu) a long time ago to other Chinese visitors. Whenever my family or friends come to Perth, Kailis is always one of the first places I think of. Thank you for always providing such a wonderful experience. Would definitely come back again.
Had a great meal at Kailis Fishmarket Cafe. The atmosphere was fantastic, with both indoor and outdoor seating available, and a beautiful waterfront setting. It’s a relaxed, casual spot where you can easily choose where to sit depending on your preference. I ordered a seafood and chips platter (fish, prawns, scallops, calamari and hot chips), and everything was fresh and delicious. The scallops were especially large and impressive. It’s a great sharing option, especially for a light lunch. The food is ordered in a self-service style, which makes everything quick and easy. It also feels very family-friendly, with simple, approachable options on the menu. The banana split was a nice nostalgic touch, something that reminded me of childhood desserts that you don’t often see anymore. Overall, a perfect spot for casual seafood with great views, generous portions, and a relaxed atmosphere.
I mean it’s fish and chip Friday so here we go. I got the $17 fish and chips battered, the chips were absolutely fantastic and definitely quite a lot for one person. The fish was battered perfectly and it fell apart in my mouth. You can eat inside or outside BUT be aware of the seagulls. Quite a large variety of food to choose from, they also have a cafe, ice cream area and fresh fish. The girl who served me was really friendly
Stepping into Kailis Fishmarket Cafe felt like a true Fremantle experience — fresh seafood, ocean views, and a lively coastal atmosphere. Known as one of Perth’s iconic seafood spots, Kailis delivered generous portions and incredibly fresh catches straight from the market. The seafood platter was the highlight of the visit, packed with tender fish, perfectly cooked calamari, and crispy chips. Pairing the meal with the relaxing harbour views made the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a seafood lover or simply exploring Fremantle, Kailis is one of those classic spots worth visiting for a satisfying and authentic WA seafood feast. 🍴: Platter with Chips & Salad, Oysters Natural, Smoked Salmon, Fresh Prawns , Clam Chowder
