2nd time we been to this cool little Irish pub. Came with friends to have the Sunday Roast. The two ladies had lamb, I had beef and the other hubby had turkey. The three of them all said how good it was. My beef with medium rare, as all beef should be. Nicely cooked veg and Yorkshire pudding with a big jug of gravy to add. Really tasty and nice to have a roast where you dont have to cook and is just as good as a home made one. Give it a go.
We got recommended to try the steaks here. We couldn't get a booking in the restaurant section so sat out the front in the pub section with its reduced, when compared to the restaurant, food menu. We tried some of the steaks and the dishes came out as quite sizeable servings combined with the sides which looked good. However, for us, the steaks seemed average. The ones we got seemed to be unevenly cooked, and a bit chewy. The aged steak that was available in the bar area didn't seem to have notably good flavour for an aged steak. Maybe the more premium steaks in the dining area would be better per the recommendations? Update: we went into the restaurant with a booking and the food was better. Still not the most amazing steak, but still much better than what is in the pub area (at a higher price). Serving sizes are massive with all the sides so finishing meal alone can be difficult. The indoor restaurant area is also a bit cramped.
Family came down for drinks and lunch. Bit of a wait for our food, as the kitchen was slammed over lunch, but it was well worth it. Some of the juiciest sausages and richest gravy I've had. Mushy peas and bacon were the cherry on top. Venue itself was gorgeous with a carved wood bar, stained glass, Irish music playing and friendly bar staff.
I have eaten in a lot of places and I would consider myself a harsh critic... But oh my God I cannot convey the point strongly enough how high the quality of food here is. It's absolutely incredible. I have now had it a few times and it had been absolutely outstanding every time without fail. By far the best meal I have had in Australia. I have gone for the fillet steak and it was incredible. The peppercorn sauce tastes like it was made by God above, the veg cooked by some master in the kitchen and the hand cut chips were just beyond belief.... All the desserts were smashing also. If I had one meal left in my life it would be had in Fibber McGee's with a bunch of good friends. Top marks and keep it up you bunch of absolute Ledgends. God bless 🙏🏻
Great spot mixing normal Irish pup with great food. Not just pub food. A great selection of beer and reasonable wine that's not too pricey. The steak was excellent and the Irish soda bread took me back to my childhood. Had to take a piece home so I could eat it again tomorrow. The service was attentive but not too pushy and there was always someone to catch your eye if you needed. My friend said it's the best steak in Perth and it's hard to disagree.
