I arrived at the hostel and from the very first moment, Leticia was a wonderful person. She also has the great advantage of speaking Spanish, French, and English, and she spoke to me in Spanish the entire time, which I truly appreciated. She is incredibly kind, attentive, and always focused on every detail of the hostel and the guests’ experience. It’s a pleasure to come across professionals like her who truly make a difference. For me, Leticia doesn’t deserve a 10 she deserves a 20 out of 10. The hostel is very fortunate to have someone like her on their team. She is an amazing person: warm, dedicated, and genuinely caring. I would definitely come back many times, just knowing there is someone like her so thoughtful, kind, and committed to the guests.
Ok so actually i want to change this review cuz ive stayed here many times and its been amazing and id like to share how positive my other stays have been. But this time i checked in and they gave me a bed with dirty sheets (pic attached). Then i asked for a clean one and they changed it but its 31 degrees in Paris and they gave me a room with a window that doesnt open (pic also attached). So the I went to speak with her again an she says im banned from all st christophers inns. She wouldnt give me her name so i took a pic an she says shes kicking me out and refusing to give me my money back. Im giving her some time to cool off because it’s very silly. I’ve been here loads of times, its always been amazing, you can ask the rest of the staff im very nice and respectful they know me. Shes obviously having a bad day and taking it out on me. I hope they give her the rest of the day off and we can move on. —————— Response to their reply: I did not try to bring a man to the women’s floor. As I mentioned before it’s 31 degrees and my friend helped me carry my bags that’s it. He never entered the room of course. However, when they very rudely kicked me out, the male security guard came to the female only floor and entered the female only room without any respect or concern for the other guests. The person responding to my review is obviously doubling down on their front end staffs behaviour rather than taking responsibility. Such a shame for an otherwise lovely place. They refunded my money after they saw I posted this review.
I gave 5 stars because the place deserves 5 stars. First, the front desk, maintenance and housekeeping departments are all good at their jobs. A crew of young, smart, friendly and supportive manage the front desk. The maintenance crew does an incredible job keeping the public areas and bathrooms spotlessly clean. The rates are a fantastic value given the prime location in this beautiful community.
A bit divided on my thoughts about this place. When I first arrived to the hostel it was well before my checkin time, but I was just looking to drop off my and my friends luggage for the day. My friend wasn’t staying as she was catching a flight later that day, but the girl at the front desk was kind enough to let my friend store her luggage as well. Upon my re-arrival for checkin I was met with a different girl at the front who was just as nice. Check in was simple, I provided my passport and was given my room key and room info. The room was a basic hostel room, bunk beds with spacious storage on the bottom, got the job done. The bathrooms were clean and did what they needed to do. They have cleaners who come everyday and do an in depth clean of the whole floor. Here is where we start to go slightly down hill. There was an issue with the handle on the door to the room I was staying in, it was completely off the hinges and just hanging. Because of this, the door was being propped open by having the lock stick out, therefore giving anyone access to the room. When I told the attendants at the front desk about this, someone came to fix it immediately. However, safety is always my number one priority and I just didn’t feel safe in this hostel. There is supposedly a key card scanner to open the very front door, but it doesn’t work. There is also one for the elevator, but it doesn’t work. There is a guard up front which I’m not sure if this is the usual practice or if this is because of the non-working scanners. I ended up forfeiting my last night and found a hotel to stay in. If things like this don’t bother you too much, then I’d encourage you to stay here. But if you’re looking for somewhere that’s a bit more secure, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. The stars I’m giving are purely for the staff encounters, which if it were only for that I’d give 5.
The most annoying WIFI in my life where 10 times a day you need to reconnect via pop-up window... and confirm your email and date of birth. Pc or the iPhone - same issue. You have to "forget the network" then reload PC.. This is the reason I wouldn’t come back to this hostel. Also there is no place to eat your food. There are only 2 tables which are most of the time busy. Instead of darts just add more tables. The bar isn't allowing you to eat at their tables even tho theirs kitchen is closed and you order drinks from them. And in the room is kinda uncomfy to eat. Everything else is great. Rooms get cleaned everyday, bathrooms and toilets are clean, nice rooms. Great bar/food below and the stuff are friendly. But food closes early.
