I am extremely disappointed by my experience at this hotel, particularly due to my interactions with an employee named Felicite De Viel Castel. From the moment I arrived, I felt unwelcome and poorly treated by her. my stay, Felicite’s demeanor was consistently cold and dismissive. Simple requests were met with very little warmth nor courtesy, and I repeatedly felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. What should have been a relaxing stay at a five-star palace hotel became a source of unnecessary frustration. The level of hospitality I experienced from this employee was entirely inconsistent with the standards one would expect from a property of this calibre. Her attitude and lack of professionalism left a lasting negative impression and significantly affected my overall experience. The most disappointing aspect is that a single staff member was able to negatively impact what was otherwise a beautiful property. Regardless of how impressive the facilities may be, exceptional hospitality ultimately depends on the people representing the hotel. My family has been staying at this hotel for decades and has always considered it our preferred address in Paris. It is therefore particularly disappointing that the conduct of a single employee has left us questioning whether we should continue staying here in the future. We are now considering alternative palace hotels in Paris, something we never previously imagined doing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, investigates the matter thoroughly, and ensures that future guests do not have a similar experience.
We booked a table for breakfast at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, and from the moment we walked in, the sheer elegance of the venue left us completely speechless. The service was absolutely flawless; the staff made us feel incredibly pampered and taken care of throughout our entire time there. As for the food, the menu offers a wonderful variety of options, and the omelets we ordered were nothing short of superb, perfectly executed and delicious. If you want to experience a breakfast or brunch with a true touch of class in Paris, this is an absolute must. Highly, highly recommended!
Amazing hotel. Room was fantastic. Staff members are professional, friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the gestures/details e.g received flowers on arrival for my birthday & they knew we are from the UK, so the adaptors were already in the bedside plugs & small teddy bears for the kids, etc. Thank you
I’m honestly very disappointed with the overall experience. The staff’s attitude is extremely arrogant and unwelcoming — they never greet you, not even a simple “hello,” which already creates a very uncomfortable atmosphere. What’s even more surprising is that they don’t assist guests in the most basic ways, like opening doors. It feels cold, dismissive, and completely lacking in hospitality. The breakfast was equally disappointing. The selection is shockingly limited — only three or four items to choose from, with no variety at all. There are no additional options, no flexibility, and nothing that meets even basic expectations for a decent breakfast. On top of that, the service during breakfast is extremely poor. No one ever comes to your table — you’re left sitting there and practically have to beg for attention. You end up having to constantly raise your hand just to order anything, and even then it feels like the staff simply doesn’t care at all. Overall, the experience feels neglectful and far from professional. Definitely not what I was expecting.
Simply perfection. Having been fortunate to travel and stay in some incredible hotels (including other Dorchester hotels) across the world, the Plaza Athénée stands out amongst the rest. My wife and I stayed for 3 days over NYE and had the most magical experience from start to finish. The location is wonderful, the rooms were a delight but most importantly the standard of service was incredible. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble and this feeling bled into the breakfast and dinner experience. We were fortunate enough to dine at Jean Imbert au Plaza Athénée for their special NYE dinner. Not often a fan of tasting/set menus this blew our absolute expectations into a new reality. It turned into a 4 hour experience and the food actually became secondary. Emma/Anne and the whole team were a delight. The passion running through the servers and sommeliers (special shoutout to Theodore) was infectious. An absolutely memorable meal made by a delightful team. We will certainly return and I thoroughly look forward to more memories being made at the hotel!
