Atmosphere: 9.5/10 Located in Paris’s 2nd arrondissement, between Opéra and rue de la Paix, Harry’s Bar sits in a prime historic district near the city’s grand boulevards. The space exudes nostalgia — wood-paneled walls, classic counter seating, vintage décor, and that unmistakable early-1900s charm. The impressive backbar tells its century-old story. No background music upstairs, staying true to its heritage feel. Live piano plays only in the basement on Wednesdays to Saturdays. Drinks: 8/10 Recommendation: Any of their classic inventions — Bloody Mary, Sidecar, French 75, or Boulevardier. The paper menu is simple and old-school, focusing on the house’s historic cocktails. Drinks are flavorful and well-balanced within that traditional framework. Presentation remains basic — below-average glassware, no garnish, and minimal ice work — but the recipes’ legacy makes up for it. Service: 7/10 Water served on arrival. Team is friendly and professional but could be more attentive. They don’t take reservation but prepare to wait during peak hours. And if it rains outside - you’re out of luck, because the waiting space is very limited and there is no roof outside. Prices are average for Paris

I'm giving four stars as I feel like it's worth a visit if you love a good drink, the historic value and ambience is the main factor that drives this. On a rainy Wednesday afternoon there were just a few customers, so service was quick and friendly. The cocktails were great so was the hotdog mainly the mustard, however other than a one time visit the price which I'm sure is driven by the high cost of rent of the area wouldn't warrant a return visit but neither does Paris in general for me but that's just my view.

If you enjoy cocktails and you’re in Paris, make sure you try Harry’s Bar. I guess I was quite lucky to get in right away without a reservation (maybe because I was alone, so they prioritized me). This stop on my cocktail-hunting journey was really interesting. The bartender took great care of me and even arranged a good seat at the bar (a slim guy with blonde, slightly curly hair). He was very friendly, gave me recommendations, and chatted with me, so even though I came alone, I never felt lonely. As for the drinks—there’s nothing to complain about. This place is in the world’s top 50 best cocktail bars, and I don’t think that’s by accident. I tried two cocktails, and the “French” really impressed me. The bar has a cozy atmosphere, though it’s missing a bit of soft background music—there’s only the sound of conversations and the shaking of the bartender’s tools. Perhaps that’s part of the bar’s charm. If I have the chance to return to Paris, this will definitely be a place I come back to.

This place is champion! Great atmosphere and packed with nostalgia. The drinks are well made in beautifully chilled glasses. They do the classic cocktails very well. Great twist on the 75 with the addition of absinthe

One of the most iconic bars in the world. All you need to know is that Hemingway drank here, and the Bloody Mary was invented at this very bar. It has an atmosphere that can't be just created. It's as real as it gets. And the barman is a true gentleman, knows his art in a way that only the gifted do. Watching him work is truly poetry in motion. Recommendation you ask? If course the Bloody Mary if you are that way inclined, but I've just had the best Sidecar I'll ever have. The French 75 is delicate and delicious, and the Dirty Martini is better than any I could dream of making. Grab a stool, sit for a while and order more than one drink... You deserve it. 🍸🍸
