We had a fantastic stay at Hotel The Flag Shinsaibashi and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka. The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a great stay. One of the biggest highlights was the location. It’s in an excellent spot, only about a 5-minute walk from Dotonbori and the main shopping areas, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city, restaurants, and nightlife. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Our room was spotless, well-maintained, and the bed was very comfortable, making it easy to relax after busy days of sightseeing. We used the laundry service and it was amazing and very handy to have in the hotel. The hotel had a great atmosphere and felt both stylish and relaxing. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Osaka.
We had a wonderful stay at The Flag Shinsaibashi and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka. What stood out most was the warm hospitality of the staff. I had injured my ankle during the trip, and when the team noticed, they immediately went out of their way to help by lending me crutches and offering a wheelchair. Throughout our stay, they regularly checked in to see how my ankle was doing, which was incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated. The staff all spoke excellent English, making communication effortless. They were always approachable, friendly and happy to help with recommendations, directions and local food suggestions. The room was clean, spacious, modern and very well-maintained. We especially loved how new and fresh everything felt. The room design was practical too, with only part of the room carpeted, which felt more hygienic while still providing comfort. What impressed us was the attention to detail. The hotel provides amenities that actually matter. For example, the room comes with a Dyson hair dryer, something that many hotels, even some 4-star properties, do not provide despite positioning themselves as premium or environmentally conscious. The hotel feels sophisticated and thoughtfully designed throughout. We also appreciated the smart touches such as the magnetic room service and "Do Not Disturb" signs that attach neatly to the door. Small details, but they contribute to a seamless guest experience. The breakfast was excellent, with a good mix of Japanese and international options. There was something for everyone in the family. We also mistakenly thought breakfast ended at 10:30am instead of 10:00am. We arrived right at 10:00am, and rather than turning us away, the staff warmly welcomed us in and allowed us to enjoy our breakfast without feeling rushed. Their kindness left a lasting impression. The location is fantastic. It is within walking distance of Shinsaibashi Shopping Street and Dotonbori, while being surrounded by many popular local eateries just 1–2 minutes away from the hotel. Another feature we loved was the hotel's partnership with a same-day luggage delivery service to Kyoto. It made transferring between cities completely hassle-free. Lastly, the hotel has a dedicated drop-off area for vehicles, allowing guests to load and unload luggage comfortably without feeling rushed by traffic. Overall, The Flag Shinsaibashi combines an excellent location, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, great breakfast and outstanding service. What truly sets this hotel apart is the genuine warmth of its staff and the many small details that show they have carefully considered the guest experience. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Osaka.
I wasn't expecting much and I was kind of nervous with booking this hotel because it wasn't on main street at least to me. But when I arrived, I was impressed from the time the entry door opened. the staff was from the first day to every day was great, always willing to help and answer any questions. I also wasn't expecting all of the amenities that it has. I greatly appreciate the unlimited complimentary coffee, tea, water even the free water bottle that saves money and the need to be buying water bottles every day. I also appreciate the recycling availability for us to throw our trash. The guest lounge was always clean no matter the time of the day. The washer and dryer was very convenient to have at the guest lounge area as well. The room and bathroom size was adequate for the price, very clean and they cleaned as you request. I really enjoyed that I was walking distance to everything for shopping, sightseeing, train stations. it's in a quite area well at night it can get loud on the weekend but that's outside you really don't hear anything inside. I felt safe at all time walking to and from the hotel. I highly recommend it. This hotel goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable during your stay with their staff, amenities, cleanines. also their breakfast was great, very fresh plenty of options and at a reasonable price. I only stayed in two hotels during my visit in Japan the other was in Shinjuku in the business district area and although it was very nice, Hotel The Flag topped it.
Hotel The Flag Pros: (1) Excellent location. Easy, walkable access to a couple subway entrances, lots of shopping (less than 5 minute walk) and restaurants. (2) Very friendly, welcoming staff that responds very quickly to requests (iron/ironing board, extra pillows). (3) Daily breakfast buffet was good & varied. If it’s not included with your room rate you can add it separately each morning for 2,000 yen (approximately $12 usd). Cons: (1) I’m not sure if it was because of the particular week I chose my stay, but I was denied early check-in and also late checkout. So if this is really important to you (it wasn’t for me) plan accordingly & reserve an extra day ahead. (2) No workout room or fitness center.
Location could not have been better; the front desk team was exceptional. Nothing too much trouble and they provided excellent recommendations. The 24-hour complimentary coffee in the common lounge area was very good and very appreciated. The rooms were clean, modern, and the king bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really extensive and very good. The bathroom was clean and had an excellent rain shower; no bathtub, but it was really not needed either. Overall, I feel this was more of a 4* hotel than a 3* and was the most unexpected surprise of being much more than expected.
