Just a short walk from Hozenji Yokocho, Hanamaruken Hozenji (花丸軒 法善寺店) serves a standout bowl of ramen that fully deserves the hype. The highlight is the fork-tender ribs — deeply braised, flavourful, and so soft they fall apart effortlessly. They add a richness that elevates the entire bowl. The broth is robust and leans on the savoury side, coating each strand of noodle well and delivering a satisfying, full-bodied finish. The fried rice deserves its own mention. Cooked with broth, it was fragrant and packed with depth, each grain well separated and infused with flavour. It’s not overly oily, just properly executed and very comforting. Because the ramen soup is quite savoury, I’d actually recommend having the fried rice first to appreciate its flavour balance before moving on to the richer broth. Service was warm and very tourist-friendly. When they noticed we were sharing a bowl of ramen, they thoughtfully provided a small bowl and even an extra bowl of broth without us asking. It’s small gestures like this that leave a lasting impression.
This place offers one of the best ramen I had in Osaka! I stayed in Dormy Inn and it’s walking distance from the hotel. When I was there, the crowd was moderate and I am able to get a seat immediately. After 20 minutes, crowd started to queue up outside the store. So, do come early to avoid long queue. There are only counter seatings in the restaurant, which can accommodate about 12 pax. The food is great with large portion.
This ramen place was really good. The broth was super rich and full of flavor, and the slow cooked pork rib was incredibly tender. Honestly, all the ramen we tried were delicious. Everything tasted well balanced, comforting, and satisfying. Definitely a place we’d come back to again.
Hands down the best ramen I’ve had so far during my trip to Japan. We had the ramen with slow-cooked rib, and the meat was incredibly tender, rich, and perfectly fatty. The soup itself was extremely rich and flavorful, honestly one of the best broths I’ve had. The whole experience was super smooth. You order at the machine, get seated, and your food arrives within about five minutes. Everything is incredibly fast and efficient. I absolutely loved this place and would happily come back again. If you’re nearby, you should definitely give it a try. 🍜
This is a great ramen stop in Osaka near Dotonburi. Convenient location and one of the few places to experience soft rib ramen. It’s tender and excellent. You can choose small, normal, and exra-large portion of noodles to fit your appetite. You can also order drinks and the gyoza is made fresh at the shop daily. Highly recommend and open 24 hours so you can find a time before or after dinner rush with no line. I’ve passed by this place for years. Happy I finally stopped in. I will be back. Arigatou!
