An intimate, incredibly friendly hostel run by local staff who provide excellent neighborhood recommendations.

Overall, great stay! * Staff was really friendly and speak English. * Common area is nice. There is complimentary cereal and milk in the morning. Complimentary Ramen, coffee and tea available all day. * Cleanliness is good. * Room AC is monitored by staff. Personally, I find this to be great because I had an experience where at one hostel, the guests had control of the AC and it was like a war of on or off. * Door are extremely quiet! I was never woken up by another guest entering the room. * Comforter of bed was really comfortable. * Bed comes with spacious shelf to put your things on. If you don't want to use the shelf, it can be folded up. * Host provides lock to locker space. * Rental towel service. * Showers come with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. * Showers on every floor. * Hair dryer provided in bathroom area.

Facilities were clean and staff were incredibly friendly. The window in the bedroom was shorter than the wall so it did not fit and there was some sponge and wood to fill the gaps which did nothing to reduce the sound from the city. The communal slippers need a good wash. Very close to Dotonburi and metro stations. Incredibly central to everything.

We stayed at Osaka Guesthouse SUN for 4 nights and really enjoyed the hostel staff, facilities and overall vibe. This is a great base for exploring the city as it's not far from Namba/Dotonburi district. We were in a 12 bed dorm with a nice view of the river. Each floor has a shower (good pressure + hot water), washing machine, lockers to fit valuables, 2 sinks and a toilet. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, speak English and always seem to have something going on at night. The common area and kitchen is great for getting work done or eating in. Great wifi throughout. My only regret was not staying in Osaka longer. Would recommend and would stay again!

From the very start the staff welcomed us at the hostel very kindly! My first impression of the facilities was very good! The Guesthouse was very pretty, the rooms and beds were impressively clean; I guess especially because Koh, the manager of the hostel hates mess. :D The guests can spend their free time in the cozy living room that is equipped with a few games like our beloved „bananagrams“ and the newest acquisition „Spot it!“ which can fill long and memorable nights at the hostel. The staff would also invite us to spend sometime going out with them showing us the area, including some of their favorite bars and localities in Osaka. The lively quarters Dotonbori/Nanba are located surprisingly close to the hostel (short walking distance; around 10 min). Me and my friend Mia had a great time at the hostel, and would come back anytime we‘d be taken back to Osaka! Shoutout to the friendly staff, you guys really made us feel at home in Guesthouse Sun!

Staff was helpful, place was clean, showers were fine. Great location, easy walk to Dotonoburi and all the Namba stations. Right next to the canal. Beds were comfortable enough, I was there in early spring and it was a bit hot at night but I suppose that's better then not keeping the heat on.
