Absolutely loved my stay at The Ludlow Hotel and will definitely be back. As a bit of a germaphobe, cleanliness is a huge deal for me, and my room looked, smelled, and felt spotless. The natural light was incredible, the bed was comfortable, the soaking tub was a dream, and I loved that all of the windows opened for fresh air. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond throughout my stay- especially Omar, he’s superb! The lobby is cozy, beautifully designed, and always felt clean and inviting with the fireplace going. We had lunch in the outdoor garden space and while the food was just okay, the ambiance, sunshine, and plants made it worth it. Room service was quick, luggage hold was seamless, and the hot tub filled up fast. The gym is small and can get crowded, but that's my only real complaint. Overall, I can't wait to come back and would absolutely recommend The Ludlow, especially to my aesthetic women who appreciate beautiful design, natural light, and a cozy luxury experience.
I absolutely love the Ludlow Hotel it has spectacular rooms, amazing bar, wonderful room service and is super vibey for drinks (amazing cocktail list) and Dirty French do amazing food and an amazing burger. I love the area it’s based in the LES which is full of cool shops, galleries, great places to eat, not to mention Katz and then also has an amazing vibe with street art - it reminds me a bit of Shoreditch or Hackney in London - a gritty city kinda buzz. The reason I am rating this one star is because I stayed at the Ludlow and had a room change and rather than accommodate the change smoothly (the night before I asked if they could ensure the room was available close to check out) but I was told the room would only be available at 3pm and to leave the hotel and come back then…. This is absurd. I was literally staying there for 2 days in one room (bath tub rooms) and the had a CONSECUTIVE two more days booked and then they wouldn’t allow me to even stay in the room and wait until the new room was ready this was absolutely ridiculous and ruined my plans that day because I had luggage and many things to do work wise in those crucial hours but couldn’t get anything done because I was forced to wait in the lobby like an idiot. To make matters worse, as I sit here wasting crucial hours in a lobby, other guests are arriving and allowed to check in early being told their rooms are ready…. Despite the fact I was told that my room being made ready was a priority - which it clearly wasn’t. I am actually incensed at how inflexible and unaccommldating the staff have been in this scenario - it’s not a hard thing to arrange for my room to be cleaned immediately or at least within 20-30 mins it’s of the previous guest leaving allowing me to go up to the room. What’s disappointing is the fact that all the staff seemed unable to help. It was a case of “oh sorry you’re gonna have to just wait” rather than the desk staff proactively asking a member of the cleaning team to clean the room with a priority. It is insane and has ruined my entire day. It’s made me question whether I would ever stay at the Ludlow again because this is pure incompetence
Lord she’s a looker, but she’s not very practical - that’s my summary of The Ludlow Hotel. I wanted to love it! The decor is amazing, the location is great. But it is more shine than substance for sure. The penthouse has a whole wall of matching Le Cruset cookware and Limoges dinnerware … and not a sponge or dishwasher in sight. The bedroom is generously sized by NYC standards but there is no dresser, and only small closets with half a hanging rack and some cubbies inside them. The only bedside tables are very cool looking tree-stump tables … with no drawer to store stuff and very little surface area, some of it already taken up by lamp and alarm clock - I had to leave my book and watch and charging phone on the floor to have room for my bedside water and a place to put my glasses. The turntable they make the centerpiece of the lounge area had a ground fault and a horrible hum - the engineer who came to fix it (which only fixed it for 6 hours) said it was always had something wrong with it - the hum was so loud it basically ruined any music we tried to listen to. The front of house staff was great but the ops and management need some work as they took days to respond when I reached out about extending our stay possibly for a long time - guess they didn’t want the business. We have been much happier at places like the Lowell and the Hotel Chelsea, this was really disappointing in comparison for a luxury hotel experience. She looks pretty but she’s just not functional. Go hang out in the lounge like the cool kids and maybe stay for a night if you want to enjoy the vibe, but don’t expect substance and service here, it’s looks and vibe and not much else.
Home away from home in NYC. Beautiful rooms, albeit NYC size. Hotel service is excellent and the lobby and patio is an energetic fun scene all day. The elevators can get slow since there are only two. Dirty French restaurant adds hints of Moroccan spice to classic French dishes. The best feature: the neighborhood is the amenity.
Excellent, I loved this hotel; everything was impeccably clean. The staff is friendly and very attentive; they quickly resolved any request I made by phone. I would definitely stay here again. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the elevator took a long time to arrive every time, and my room door was somewhat difficult to open/close. I forgot to report it; it was room 311, in case anyone reads the reviews.
