Omg that shower was cold. Room was clean though, I stayed in a split bunk with 4 people. Bathroom was clean enough. It’s a short walk to a train that can take you to manhattan. It’s one bus and one train away from the airport. They have a locker space under the bed to store belongings—can bring your own lock or rent a lock. Given it’s a hostel, you will hear people in and out of the room and climbing up/down beds. I heard footsteps from other floors too. Still had good enough rest.

It’s conveniently located not too far from subway. E line brings you to many popular places with no hassle. Yes, the ally is a little dark but it doesn’t have dangerous vibe. I was there for 3 nights and didn’t encounter any suspicious people at night there. It’s very loud in the morning tho, the loading trucks starts early and loud and it doesn’t stop. For the price they offer, you get a four beds with private bathroom and under the bed storage. I’d say it’s very nice not having to use shared bathrooms with a fraction of hotel prices. Of course the room is not 5 star hotel grade and worn, but for a hostel it’s not bad at all. You even get a free drink after checking in. There’s a full size kitchen, two dishwashers and two refrigerators. Stove and microwave both work well. My food stayed safe in the shared fridge for two days. Rooftop view is great too. They offer free luggage storage on the day of checking in, and $2/bag storage fee at checkout day.

It was a great stay, a bit pricey for a hostel. The on-site café serves coffee in the morning and booze at night. You get a complimentary drink with your stay. A beer or a wine that is. The service was great, I do appreciate the 24hr desk. The rooming floors are quite musty, as are the rooms. I think a good idea would be to not have carpet floors, maybe just some runners outside the bathroom. On check in, I think it's vital to inform each guest which bunk in the room is theirs (higher or lower), as when I got back to my room after going out all night, someone was asleep in my bunk, and had incidentally used my dirty towel. It didn't bother me so much, but it was quite confusing to come back to at 4am. I'd stay again in a pinch.

Great events that involve comedy, but when it comes to the kitchen, there’s nobody locking up the door or no security guard guarding the area. How cheap can a hotel be and why there’s no speaker outside of the hotel so people can enjoy themselves while having yourself a drink and get a laugh or more while listening.
